I enjoy your tutorials. You have a pleasant voice, you don't subject us to unnecessary chatter, and your instructions are clear and easy to follow. This is a lonely bracelet. I want a Kumihimo disc now. It makes beautiful braids in wire.

This is such a pretty and understated bracelet. Makes it perfect for an everyday bracelet. I love that it is not hard to make at all! I was so worried that I would not be able to make because of the wire, and because I have only made one with the original pattern, and with s-lon. Thank you! Blessings! Lisa

Use a light jewellers hammer to compact the bracelet slightly and get the edge straight, don't overdo the hammer part and use very slight force to shape the bracelet a bit more perfectly. Jewellery is all about perfection, straight lines and even curves. If using non enamelled wire, annealing the wire before using it helps make the wire easier to work with as it softens it. Remember when annealing to heat the wire until is starts glowing red but not much past that as it will melt. With raw wire you can use a piece of very fine sandpaper to polish the bracelet, this should harden the wire a lot, helping keeping the shape of the bracelet, but sometimes a softer more forgiving bracelet would feel more comfortable on the wrist, all up to maker's choice.

You do amazing work. Can you give us some ideas on how much wire to use for a bracelet. For example: 60cm of wire = ? inches of braid. I want to start making some of these, but really want to cut down on potential waste to minimize cost. It would be extremely helpful to know exactly how much to start with to end up with a desired bracelet length. 7", 8" etc. Thanks, and keep the great ideas coming. :)
@CSLdesigns9 жыл бұрын
+Mark Bramer Thank you very much. Not really more than I've already done in the video. I haven't made that kind of specific calculation myself. I have just gotten used how long lengths to use to get an average size bracelet, and you will always have some waste at the ends regardless. But one thing you can do to reduce waste is if you want to make more than one bracelet, work with much longer lengths of wire and just do a continuous braid until you've used all the wire, and then cut the final braid down into sorter lengths. That way you waste a lot less wire :-)

Hello! I love you’re work and I’m just starting to learn kumihimo! I actually just ordered your book! Wondering if you have any tutorials on how to set beads in the center of this weave? Or if that’s even possible? If so, would you please share the link? Thank you so much!

Whitney Baker Hi. She has a video called Beaded Wirework Kumihimo Bracelet that is VERY similar that does include beads. The link is kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaazqKRvfJh3sKc. I just happened to watch it a couple vids ago. Good luck!

I'm curious...instead of using 32 strands, could you use a larger gage wire (say 1 mm) and get the same effect with only 16 or 8 strands? Going to give it a go, as I have some beautiful purple and green 1 mm wire.

I'm enjoying the wire wrapped tutorials, but am having difficulty with the lengths being used for the 16 wires. Could you tell me how long the lengths are for the Two color flat wire Kumihimo bracelet? You mention 16 lengths of 1 mil each. That is a very tiny bracelet, so I feel I've misunderstood something.
@barbaragorman7388 жыл бұрын
The wires are not 1 mil each in length, which is actually one -thousandth of an inch, but meters. Each wire is about one meter long, as she says early in the video.
