Love Half Baked, I’m back and forth on the Rockin Horse, same on Gary Wilson, though it is still intriguing to me. I’m coming around on it.

The Wilson lp will take a minute but you will get there. The Rockin horse lp was instant for me. Thanks for watching

Great video! Very cool to see Rockin' Horse. I think you saw that in my Den Bosch video, but I'm not sure. I can also recommend the single "Michael Angelo" by Jimmy Campbell's band The 23rd Turnoff from 1967. Happy new year Jimmy!

Well, i would love to discuss your dupe of RCR. It has been on my shortlist for years. So yeah, interested! Gary Wilson is a longtime favorite and i am in Gary Wilson country here, very close to Endicott. Had a shot at a copy years back that went for $100 but missed it. That was my last sniff. Glad you mentioned Other Music because thats where i first discovered Gary, buying the Motel cd in 2002 i think back in my nyc days. It blew me away. Know it front to back. Dont forget the funk! Mutant funk i call it but certainly a private press wonder. Everything else you said was spot on. Also a fan of thag Rockin Horse but have only heard it 1-2x. Happy New Year Jimmy

Great video Jimmy. Came across the three Jimmy Campbell albums at a record fair in Liverpool, " Half Baked " Son of Anastasia " and " The Jimmy Campbell Album " a few years back and picked them up. I do have Rockin' Horse, a great album. People did suggest, whether it is correct, that Julian The Hooligan was written about John Lennon's son. A band Billy Kinsley was in was Liverpool express in the 70s, which is good 70s Pop. Happy New Year.

Rockin Horse members were never part of the mod scene. Jimmy's band 23rd Turnoff was a one off Liverpool style psych band. Billy Kinsley was in The Merseys. Mike Snow and Stan Gorman were added to round out the early 60's sound Rockin Horse attempted to produce. In 1972 Rockin Horse backed Chuck Berry on his tour in England. Videos are available for viewing on YT. Be With did a nice reissue a few years back.
