@cw92825 ай бұрын
@@bkleimann The problem is the pitcher intentionally threw the ball at the batter for no reason. Before you say it was retaliation for hitting Contreras, it was obvious that Contreras was getting too near to the batter to frame the pitch, and ended up getting hit by the bat. So that's Contreras's fault. So basically, the pitcher had no reason at all to throw a ball at the batter. Good call in booting him.
@bkleimann5 ай бұрын

@RukarioEnterprisesLLC Жыл бұрын
This was clear intention. When Happ hit Contreras, Happ went to check up on Contreras. No warning needed there, since Happ's swing was legal and Happ showed remorse after hitting Contreras. Then the next pitches, Mikolas aimed for Happ's head-neck area (And almost hit him there) and then he even made an intentional movement to hit Happ. I get it that there should've been a warning after the head-neck area miss, but if it didn't hit him, then what's the warning for? That was intentional and lead to a *JUSTIFIED EJECTION* No doubter on that. Edit: Umpires did their job correctly. Intentionally hitting a batter COULD lead to ejection.

Was that an accident on the backswing to the head? The retaliation wasn’t an accident! The announcers wasn’t happy about the ejection. Dude the pitcher threw at him on purpose! Rules n all d ickhead
@roblindburg4986 Жыл бұрын
I mean he clearly did it on purpose,but it was a respectable Plunk! Even the batter was cool with it!

Im a little confused by all the comments saying how the backswing wasnt intentional. Does that mean its fine? You can just do whatever you want with your bat out there and it doesn't matter who it injures so long as its not on purpose? Now im more a hockey fan but what we're taught in that sport is that you should always be in control of your stick. If it catches an opposing player in the mouth youre gonna get a high sticking penalty regardless of wether you meant to do it or not. So im with the pitcher on this one. If youre gonna just be so willy nilly with a literal baseball bat to conk my catcher in the head and face no repercussions for it, youre getting thrown at. So strange that people keep defending how he didnt meant to do it so that means he should just get to go out there and concuss people.

I get the first one. I don't agree with it, but get it. But the second pitch thrown at him was unnecessary after he clearly felt very bad for what he did

Honestly I was surprised it was 94 mph lol. It looked like he just casually threw it

Coward. Cubs batter didn’t even mean to do that. This is why I’d never play baseball. Bunch of sissy’s and wokld never take the 1v1 after that cowardly hbp. He’d probably run away

That’s been happening a lot it seems. Could it be because players are taller now? I don’t know. But if you’re going to hit a batter with a pitch, at least throw it more than 40mph.
@daleftuprightatsoldierfield Жыл бұрын
Last time I checked, 94 is more than 40

huge cardinals fan but cardinals have NO position to retaliate for any reason on other teams period. They are struggling so badly they cannot afford any ejections especially the few decent starters they even have. What a dumpster fire, all of management needs to go.

The back swing is ridiculous. There's no reason why he shouldn't be able to control that.

Just another example of pitchers being some of the softest people in the sport. You’re going to follow up an unintentional accident with an intentional act, that’s stupid. It’s even more stupid to argue the ejection as if it was wrong.

"The Cardinals will be allowed to stitch him up and get him back in the game, I would assume". Uh, no Chip. I know you're new to baseball but a player is never allowed to be reinserted once they leave. unreal. what a clown.
