A born in JW discusses two common errors that many ex JWs seem to make, holding on to wrath and bitterness, and immediately going from trust in one group of men in suits to other groups of men in suits.
A combination of costly government action, internal leaks, hemorrhaging membership and online criticism is forcing the Tower to restructure. Can they stop the gradual fall? What will Watchtower look like when the Boomers and gen Xers start passing? How empty was your hall when you left? Are they simply trying to look less culty? Is the recent Armageddon change meant to address the situations where members unalive their own family members so they will have a chance at resurrection?

JWs are told what to believe, they are handed "fish" and not taught how to fish. Their beliefs require a lack of critical thinking and Biblical analysis in order to maintain any semblance of coherence. And JW's are forced to eat the fish they are handed under threat of excommunication, even if they privately believe differently.
The bible speaks of an unfaithful slave. I suggest you go to the UN website and look up the fact that the Watchtower Society held NGO status with with United Nations, the wild-beast according to Watchtower doctrine. This was a partnership between 1992-2001. This partnership requires that the NGO partner push pro UN news and information, which they subtly did in the Awake. When caught by the guardian, they lied and said they only partnered with the UN to gain access to the UN library, NGO status to access which was not needed until 2003, but, regardless, does library access justify a partnership with the Wildbeast? The anger I feel towards the Watchtower society is equal to the hurt it has caused me. I put my life in the service of an American society that was not what it claimed to be. Once you open your eyes it is impossible to close them again. I have been fooled for over 30 years. 30 years of living as a slave to an American society for nothing. All these scars will be a legacy of my indoctrination.

@@exjwbiblebites2883 you cant start to tell people how to feel, its impossible. Let people be angry for as long as they want or need to be. WT does not get to say how people "should" feel after they escape the cult

@@muma6559 I can't dictate how people may or may not feel about a matter; I'm merely pointing out that once the time for indignation or justified anger has subsided, continuing onward in the state is detrimental, not beneficial: If Watchtower is still causing these emotions, they still have control.

A state of confusion....yes When God is removed, It opens you up to having a separation from your soul which leads to a separation from your spirit, and then I believe many statists try to fill in the gap of God with government.

You said it very clearly what I also see. I’ve been following the exjw now for about 4 years and see the same patterns as when I was in the cult. The best part of being free is i can speak my mind about it. Some have jumped right into the woke religion and act like JWs again.

The Faithful Slave can read and reread their bible, the problem they have is artfully getting it to support their beliefs! The lead slave 75-80 years ago was inspired. I know, let us change a few words to make our blble version agree with us!! The secondary slave retorts, wonderful and if the need arises we can update it. Only circumstances require. Our goal of course is to make sure Gods word always agree with our teachings! Where do these great ideas come from? Our Father in Heaven, his Son Christ Jesus, Holy Spirit? Who do You trust to provide Bible Truth? John 7: 28--33. Choose our Family in Christ! (Relationship trumps Religion) Ask our father, through his Son and trust him for guidance in the translation to read John.

It's completely normal to feel angry, when I was born my parents were baptized so I had the obligation to be a JW, when I was a teenager it's when I started to show that I wasn't interested at all, I started to grow my beard and I got so much crap from the elders about it and look at them now, they allow beards, that makes me mad, but what makes me furious is that when my dad passed away, they made a horrible situation of losing my dad and made it much worse because they were judging me and making me feel horrible by saying that I was a bad son just because I wasn't a jw.

I had neither rage or anger when I left. Here's the key you have to have a life before watchtower anyway. Most people who leave watchtower are born in. So to me when I left it was like another day like who cares😂😂😂.. the best part of it my family don't talk to me and that's good for me because it's less toxic in my world.😂👍.

Well-thought-out and balanced advice. Just curious; who are the "new guys in suits?" I think you meant anyone that fits that role? Trust but verify seems in order. In the WT there's a lot of trust but very little verification going on.

There is a spiritual haze, a hypnotic suggestion that does act as a form of perception filter over JW eyes. After I broke free, fully, I saw things "I had read over, many, many times" but had not actually processed.
