It empties into the Dead Sea two furlongs away. .at its furthest point AWAY from the temple..where the GB are...yet it is THERE where the most dramatic results occur !! When you’re a young JW imagining being at Bethel, the reality is a whole lot different once you get there. Thanks JT for sharing your experience. I had family at one time at Bethel, and room bids is a real thing. It’s all about status and seniority at Bethel. No different than a regular corporation, except the WT corp employs free labor and is tax exempt.

While we might not think it a risk for us personally, the hazard remains. Why? For one thing, some of the apostate literature presents falsehoods by means of “smooth talk” and “counterfeit words.” (Romans 16:17, 18; 2 Peter 2:3) What would you expect from the table of demons? And while the apostates may also present certain facts, these are usually taken out of context with the goal of drawing others away from the table of Jehovah. Whereas the ‘weed-like’ ones would finally be pitched into the “fiery furnace,” the ‘wheat-like’ ones would “shine as brightly as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.” (Matt. 13:24-30, 37-43) This definitely pointed to the concluding portion of the system of things under Satan’s wicked rule preceding its destruction. The prophetic illustration of Jesus also showed that time had to pass before the ‘weed-like’ ones would become fully manifest, finally to be destroyed. Since the apostles knew this, their use of “last days,” “last hour” and like expressions in connection with the apostasy did not mean that they expected Jesus’ second presence and the subsequent destruction of the ungodly right away. Its so Exciting seeing prophecy being fulfilled ! The overwhelming reach that Social media has been seen , not just enabling an ex jw community to amass as one against the governing body, but worldwide..a phenomenon that the world has trouble policing ..with the young impressionable minds being infected ..parents have challenges keeping up with and limiting the exposures of the minds of their children. Ezekiel referred to the overwhelming nature of it ..describing it well..like clouds...clouds covering the land. An intangible..untouchable phenomena ..allowing us to write.. to anywhere In the world ..not on paper.. what an interesting choice of words he was inspired to use..describing this modern technological tool !! This cloud accompanies Gogs final attack on Gods representatives . Ezek 38:20-22 shows us how things will turn out after his mistreating Gods people.

This video is on point ! I served in Nairobi bethel for many years. Most bethelites were materialistic and loved and lived the good life... especially the missionaries....one missionary couple had three cars even though they were assigned to the kingdom hall at bethel... The American Coordinator was a golf playing aloof brother who acted like a rich CEO , his close friends were wealthy local Jws Missionaries had a lot of money gifted to them when they went back home for vacation and related experiences of how difficult life was and how poor their assigned countries were ....while the reality is the missionary bethelites lived a very comfortable , sheltered life with a high standard of living unlike the field missionaries .

Yes. The 107 building on the 5th floor was the single men floor. The bedroom had a sink in the room, a closet, and 2 beds. You had to walk across the hall with a bath robe. You would pass the elevator doors. I hope the doors will not open. Get to the community showers. Fortunately, they had separate shower stalls. Then, once done, go back to the room, dress up, and use the stairwell and go down 5 flights of stairs, go through the tunnel to 124 building for morning worship. Terrible living quarters with no full bathroom. The area in which the building was in one of the most luxurious areas in New York City. When they sold the place, I wondered what people felt about those rooms with no bathroom. Room bidding based on number years in full-time service or when you were baptized. Typical. I was sad when I left Bethel. But, 30 years later, I am extremely happy I left. Even simple motels had better living arrangements.

The big problem with most JW is: They feel superior to other people, and because of that negative feeling they become arrogant. It's because WT tells the rank and file they are the only people who knows the scriptures very well... But they don't... There is why they changed doctrines so many times. The Bible is available for the inteire world to read.... WT doesn't own GOD WT doesn't own CRIST WT doesn't own the Bible knowledge... They may print millions of Bibles but the knowledge belongs to Almighty GOD YHVH and Crist. and WT doesn't own people either. Cristians belong to CRIST He pay High price to save humans from our condition. Thank you very much.

Ah, I know about room bidding from my jw sister & bro.in law from the Sydney branch. This was about 10 years ago, i dead now through. On day on the phone, i asked what they were doing in the afternoon, she said - we're bidding for a room & when i asked what that was, she explained because we have been here 10 years we can now bid to get a better room (it went in one ear & out the other) BUT - they had a double room with a ensuite - but because of their time already at the branch & the fact that he was a department head elder, they got what she called a large studio apartment. Bedroom space, with a adjoining lounge room & yes they got their big leather chairs out of storage & shipped down to Sydney. A kitchen off the lounge with a small table & chairs & a large bathroom. Because EVERYTHING has to be black, white, grey & chrome in my sister's happy place, they were allowed to have the free labour force redo all the tiles in the kitchen (at their own expense) & they made a space for a decent full sized fridge, microwave & not forgetting the large all singing, all dancing coffee machine. The apartment had full sized sliding glass doors onto a wide patio where she kept her plants, overlooking the landscaped grounds towards the acreage at the back of the accommodation block. Oh & they got their own car space instead of having to walk for ages to the big car park. She must of been very smug knowing she had moved up the accommodation chain because of her husbands status, no different to any other organisation - the higher on career ladder you climb, the more perks you get.

It was the epitome of selfishness. They literally RAN ( I think Oklahoma land race ) to get the better seats-taking stack of magazines or newpapers with them so as to save seats ( and for more than just immediate family) Whole sections of the better seats were taken before the average person waiting outside when the doors opened got into the auditorium.

LoL I understand I used to do the magazine on seats, but as a older person I'm not greedy about a seat, sorry for my lack of knowledge, I'm not babtized yet but can't wait to get babtized as a Jehovah's witness, because I don't know which religion is better then Jehovah's witnesses still, and I still strive like a athletic, but not for people's thoughts but for biblical purposes, jw has best evidence, and evidence wins over all.

WT puts to much propaganda about how good is bethel.. But some people they forgot what it's said on the 10 commandments. States,: You should not make any image of what you see, in the sky On the face of earth Or Under the sea. Promoting a IMAGE of a special place it's a form of worship... WHY?? To much propaganda, and attention concentrate on a building and it's group of people... WT doesn't keep a low profile about themselves, like Crist did.

Be aware that Mocking apostates as shown in this video that also publish literature that resorts to distortions, half-truths, and outright falsehood. They even picket Witness conventions, trying to trap the unwary., it would be a dangerous thing to allow our curiosity to move us to feed on such writings or to listen to their abusive speech! All their writings simply criticize and tear down! Nothing is up building. “Avoid them,” says God’s Word. Other translations render that phrase “turn away from them,” “keep away from them,” and “stay away from them!” There is nothing ambiguous about that inspired counsel. Suppose that a doctor told you to avoid contact with someone who is infected with a contagious, deadly disease. You would know what the doctor means, and you would strictly heed his warning. Well, apostates are “mentally diseased,” and they seek to infect others with their disloyal teachings. (1 Tim. 6:3, 4) Jehovah, the Great Physician, tells us to avoid contact with them. We know what he means, but are we determined to heed his warning in all respects? Apostates “quietly bring in” corruptive ideas. Like smugglers, they operate in a clandestine manner, subtly introducing apostate views. And just as a clever forger tries to pass phony documents, so apostates use “counterfeit words,” or false arguments, trying to pass their fabricated views as if they were true. They spread “deceptive teachings,” “twisting . . . the Scriptures” to fit their own ideas. Jesus Christ had foretold, the apostasy did not take in the entire body of Christians; the true, loyal ones were to be as “wheat” associated with “weeds.” After Christ’s second presence begins, invisible, in spirit, and during “the conclusion of the system of things” (then existing) a clear separation and demarcation was to be made evident. The “weeds,” “the sons of the wicked one,” were to be ‘collected out of the kingdom of the Son of man.’ This cleaning out of the true Christian congregation would leave a field of clean wheat; the false imitation Christians would be outside the true Christian congregation. Let no man seduce you in any manner, because it will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction.”-2 Thess. 2:1-3.

Be courageous. You are the only one. I was a faithful JW for 47 years. I,m 72 now. I ,m out for 5/6 years. Primary reason ??? CSA. In good conscience I can't accept gross imorality done against children. WT is a HUGE disappointment for me. I'm still a Biblia beliver and I read the scriptures frequently. The Prophetic book of Daniel chapter 11, 35 Speaks about a refinement among Cristians before the end comes. This refinament is happening right now. Don't lose your faith in Almighty GOD YHVH and Crist. CRIST is the Appointed judge for mankind including the GB. CRIST as a judge is doing a wonderful job How??? By exposing All the bad things done against the Father,s Name. GOD YHVH is a God of justice. Thank you very much.

I experience the room bid in1988 about 4 months before I left. i was watching a friends room in 107 while my roommate was in our dinky little cubby hole in the 122 portion of 124. it was crazy all the question I got asked about a room that wasn't even mine. I got to the point where I made stuff up because it was dumb. I just wanted to be quiet and read my book. I ended up losing the room I had for 2 years and got moved to a 4 man in Towers. this was 2 weeks before I left. They moved my table also but I didn't even go down except the first day. didn't like any of them, they were all office workers and no interest in a short timer. I rate the overall bethel experience 7/10. glad i didn't fall prey to the lure to stay.

When I say the bath was 100% discusting, I say because its thru. My barn were I keep the goats have better standard then this bath. I think the house was refered to as the yellow hotell or the yellow building. It looked like an old mansion that had been liberated for the sovjet people and the sovjet people never maintained since 1918. Those the got to like inside bethel had it so mutch better, in real western standard hotellrom. But the society also rented old wooden houses with sever mold problem. We had a old singel anointed sister that were over 100 y.o. here at the Norwegian. branch. When they buildt the new bethel she said publicly that she would have the best room. I think it was a corner room with a nice view. And she got it. It was often told as an humoristisc anekdote that she got it and the brothers in the comity had nothing thay would say. I really liked this. The brother had to be humble and I think also they were ok with it. No one told us to stop telling the story over and over The Norwegian branch was actually a really nice place, but i learned that many of the bethelites were arrogant and thought they were better then pioneers. I remember asking them about pioneeering and there answer were; I was pioneering 2 years as a stepping stone to get into bethel. They did not talk about the people in the territory… it was just a steppingstone. After a while I thought Jehovah had created bethel to keep the inflexible fanatics away from field sevice… 😅

Let no man seduce you in any manner, because it will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction.”-2 Thess. 2:1-3.

When I think of how my elders and betters would describe Bethel and the saints that worked there being content with 50pence a month for a pair of socks it makes me smile. I was in awe of these saintly men who give up everything to serve their god in sackcloth and ashes 😂😂 oh JT you surely opened my eyes! When I think of Cee Bee Gee Bees, the notorious New York club where some of the wildest Rock parties with legendary bands and their groupies took place. And who frequented these dens of iniquity? You guessed it - watchtower Bethelites!

OMG, this is an all timer for those of us that were there. You never made eye contact with a married sister (at least I didn't) if she was walking down the hall in her robe. I know this would not mean anything to a non exbethelite, but then there was location. I was in the Bossert when there was mostly worldly people in the early 80's. The rooms were not remodeled yet, they were not clean by bethel standards, and you had to walk 3 or 4 blocks to breakfast at the towers or 124, but we had bathrooms. And we could make more noise than you could get away with in the 107 and 124. Very few married couples, 6 man rooms. It was the wild, wild west! We drank a lot of beer over there. I also remember some people who had items of furniture for sale who would have a price tag on room bid day. Talk about materialism. And what we found important for a room bid? Does it have a view? Is the carpet new? How big is the closet? How close are you to the elevator? The clothing hopper? Yes, a non bethelite would never understand. Great job JT.

O yes you knew not to look at that sister, most had their heads down anyway. They must have thought these "Brothers" are going to snatch my robe and here we were supposed to be willing to die for each other. Yes the guys in the Bossert PARTY CITY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 6 MAN ROOMS the day and life of the Boys!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep head town for meals since there was no dining room over there. as they say Those were the days!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My neighbor was remodeling an elders kitchen. The elder kept telling him each day that the system is coming to an end very soon and to be ready. On the last day of construction my neighbor said to him: "If the world is ending so soon, why did you spend 40,000 dollars on your kitchen?" "Why not donate the money to feed the hungry ?" The elder told him "Good question, you have a point"

Weekly roughly maybe he collect $1000, imagine if 8 consecutive congs. That’s like $8k! He get more than my salary! Also he’s accomodation was paid by the circuit $1600 per month.

Bethelites were deemed extra holy in my limited view as I am someone who was introduced to all thing j.w when I was 30. I saw the Bethel brothers and sisters as sterling examples of pure devotion and self sacrifice. What made them extra special was their vow of poverty in my eyes. Now I'm flabbergasted to know they were so petty and pathetically materialistic!

when they left brooklyn, they'd bid on rooms while other bethelites were still in them. I had to move 3 times in 2 years while senior bethelites would get the day off to go into other peoples rooms, look through there stuff see if they liked it and bid on your room. I worked evenings and nights and had to wake up or leave on my time off so people could tour my room, bid on it, sometimes tell me to my face "im taking your room" which eventually led to being moved out of the building and into a trailer. smh. mind you, when you get there or anytime they feel like, theyll tell you you don get to choose your arrangements and that you need to be content with jehovahs provisions.
