The more I think about it, the more the Buck 110 might be detrimental to the future of Buck. The more I see their newer knives with the dual density handles the more I'm attracted to Buck. Both of those knives are gorgeous and look like they'd feel great in the hands. Really great ergos. And as you probably know, I really don't have much of an issue with 420HC but it is nice to see the others steel options. Thanks for the great review

How is the 110 detrimental to Buck.. Please explain this
@KnifeChatswithTobias Жыл бұрын
@@KnivesSurvival , so often when people think Buck Knives, this is all they think of. This 50 year old, old fashioned, brick of a knife. The brand becomes, dated, old fashioned and boring, especially for people who aren't looking for their gran'pas knife. These potential customers fail to look beyond the 110 and never realize all the other knives that Buck makes, especially when it comes to many of the modern knives they make. This is partly why I was so happy to see @knifedelights7473 do this video. There are numerous knives in the Buck inventory that compare well with Tops, ESEE, Ontario, Spyderco, and Benchmade, not to mention many of the higher priced Chinese made knives. But if people just think of the Buck 110 when they hear the name Buck then they are not going to look at Buck Knives when shopping for a modern folder or fixed blade. This will be especially true if they are not a fan of the Buck 110.

Thanks for taking a look, Tobias! I sometimes get lost in yesteryear and fail to appreciate how innovative Buck has been. I recently got a Buck modern folding knife, the Sprint Pro Ops, and it is fantastic. Great comment and thoughts, my friend.

Thank you for showing the more modern Bucks Tom, pretty usefull in the field, although not as good looking as the phenolic handles with the aluminium pommel or the wood with the brass pommel, but very lightweight, same steel and not slippery with wet hands.

Those are great knives. Buck does a very good job with 420HC. It is definitely a step up over the stainless that Mora uses in their budget knives. Leatherman also uses 420HC and they also do a good job with it. That black one is an incredible deal for the price! I do love high end steels, but if I was forced to choose just one steel it would be a basic steel that holds a reasonable edge and sharpens easily. Did you know that 420HC is also much tougher than most of the new fangled super stainless steels?
@knifedelights7473 Жыл бұрын
I think Buck does a good job with their 420 HC. Both of these knives are pretty good deals, but especially the Bucklight. Thanks so much for watching, LCK!
