Hi Girls, I luv Santana, I'm old school so I've been into them since Woodstock days, so a great tune is "Oye Como Va". Carlos Santana is a great guitar player but the Organ on it or "Black Magic Woman" which both were from 1970 were excellent to quote the movie Wayne's World LOL

Retired Boomer here. I congratulate you youngsters on discovering the music of my youth. In the spring of 1970, Santana's big hit was "Oye como va". I remember it well. Yes, I am that old! None of us English speakers understood the lyrics, but nobody cared. It was just great music.

I don't believe that I've ever crossed anybody who DOESN'T enjoy Carlos Santana...one of the few left who played at the original Woodstock (I have no doubt that you young ladies would dig taking a weekend to check out the videos and the music that have been made of the show...Someone with a better memory will correct me, but if my own memory serves, there's a fifteen year old guitar wizard of a young dude with a huge 'fro that you'll see playing Woodstock with Santana...Neil Schonn (sp?), who later would show up in the band Journey). Another fun song to dance to is Tito Puente’s 4 beat cha cha cha. Tito was an idol of Santana and Oye Como Va is a Tito original but was a huge hit for Santana. Santana has one of the most recognizable liquid fluid guitar tones in Rock History. I loved you guys mentioning him running his fingers all the way down to the bottom of the neck. That's an iconic riff he often uses. I first heard him do it on the Album California Jam 2 in the opening song Jugando. Juliet describing how emotional his playing is was spot on. He puts his soul into every note he plays. You 2 dancing at the end was awesome! Mia did a fantastic job explaining the songs meaning(I don't speak Spanish). It's really neat that an 11 year old can enlighten a 55 year old as to the meaning of a song I have listened to for so long. I think the song will seem a bit different to me going forward. You both did such an excellent job! Keep it up!! YEE!!!
