Two Great Quilt Shops To Visit In South Central Kansas!!!

Recently I visited the two quilt shops in South Central Kansas! These are just 23 miles apart! If you are in this area, they are worth checking out!
Neither of these quilt shops paid me or gave me merchandise for sharing information about their quilt shops. I just thought it would be fun to share these shops with you!

I actually live not far from Field to Fabric and absolutely love that shop. I usually spend an hour looking at fabrics, buying my 108 backings and they have a large selection of quilt kits they make up and cut. There is always something new and inspiring every time I go in the shop. It is a must see quilt shop.

I love to see the shops. I also try to visit the local quilt shops when I go to other towns. It’s so fun and interesting to see the different displays and fabrics unique to each shop. I live in Wichita and after doing the South Central Quilt Hop, Beehive was my favorite shop. I love that it is close to me. I also found two dinosaurs my grandsons “needed”.

I love seeing different shops across the country! For me, customer service is the most important part of my shopping experience! If I’m getting great customer service, I’m more likely to make a purchase! I have a local quilt shop where I get a 20% discount on any notion. However, I drive several miles out of my way to go to another shop and pay full price because their customer service is outstanding versus the one closest with a discount! At the local shop where I can get a discount, I have heard employees talking about previous customers in a negative way. This has happened several times on different occasions. I thought it was wrong and offensive. That is one of the main reasons that I will drive several miles out of my way to go to a shop where the employees are pleasant and super helpful, directing me to sales and new arrivals! ❤

Yes, nice to see shops. I like to go on quilt shop excursions. One of my favorites is The Gathering Place in Rupert Idaho. It's in an old department store on the town square. All kinds of things and well organized.

I love visiting quilts shops when I travel. I have been to the Quilt Shop in Wellington, KS. Shop . It’s one of my husband’s favorite stores, mostly because of the Toy Store part of it. He doesn’t mind how long it takes me to look for something, if he can look at the toys. I haven’t been to the second store. I’m looking forward to visiting it on my next trip to Wishita. I have been to Arkansas many times and have gone to several quilt shops in that state; however, I never knew about MDG!! I looked it up and if I am ever close, I will visit!!!

I love seeing all of the little shops in the middle of nowhere. There once was a magazine that came out a few times a year that showcased shops across the country and I really miss it. I can't remember the names of the shops at the moment but there is a really cute on in Oakley, Kansas and another one in Alden, should you find you want to visit a few more in Kansas. I live in Denver and have a friend in Hays, so we are finding all of the shops between here and there and all around western Kansas. Thanks for sharing.

The Quilted Heart in Limon, CO is always a stop for us when we go on vacation in Western Colorado. I’ll have to check out the shop in Oakley.
