Yeah, it's weird when people act like confessing or apologizing should absolve them of the consequences of their actions. It's an admirable thing to do because it very likely won't have a good outcome for you, but if you want to be a terrible person and hide things, do that, if you get found out though, the consequences could be 10x worse.

Alcohol doesn't make you do or say anything that is not already within you. All it does is lower your inhibitions enough to speak or act on those desires. Drunk or sober, a cheater is a cheater. OP #1's ex-wife wasn't really sorry she did it. She was sorry it was going to result in her having to fend for herself. OP#2 did nothing wrong other than humoring the ho's whole "you weren't there for me" thing, which we all know is BS. ...Okay, two mistakes. Going for a single mom is an awful idea.
@DeathsHood

So, not excusing the cheater, because there were plenty of chances to stop the interaction *_before_* getting drunk, but alcohol *_absolutely does_* make you do things you otherwise would not do when sober. "Lowered inhibitions" does not mean "sober me wants this, but doesn't think it's good" Drunk me decided once train-hopping would be a great idea, when sober me isn't stupid enough to ever entertain the idea. I once watched a drunk 5'8" ~150lb teenager start a fight with a 6'5" 260lb ex-con, and I had to intervene to keep the poor kid from being beaten to death. You think sober him thought, even in the darkest recesses of his brain, that he stood a chance? the only time i accepted cheating was this one story. She went out with her friends and one of her friends bfs to karaoke. Her friends forced her to drink over 10 beers in 1 hour. She could only handle like 2 and a half. She knew she drank more than that but it was whatever at that point. From what her friends said, bf had asked her to “strategize” in a different room. Granted, she was blackout drunk so she didnt know any better. Well, he ended up r-wording her in the other room. The friends found her, got upset and drove her home. The next morning when she woke up, they told her what happened. She freaked out and was crying her heart out hearing this information. OP was in the basement when she started crying. As soon as he got into the living room, she told him everything. It stung at first, then it turned to rage. She is in therapy now and they are still together. It wasnt even cheating. I don't see any loopholes. Bars have loud music, calls are easy to miss. Alcohol lowers your inhibitors and you can get drunk to the point of not even remembering what you did. Her having massive remorse and immediately confessing him everything show that she did not want to do it. If it was deliberate, she would attempt to hide it.
@Maninawig
@Maninawig 8 ай бұрын
@@arhael3594 regret and remorse are two different things. You are right that alcohol lowers inhibitors, but it also increases the suppressed personality traits. Hence why not everyone who gets drunk joins an orgy. Not to mention that the bar can be heavily fined and shut down for allowing someone to get blackout drunk, so that's not an excuse either. Also, the missed calls were after the bar closing at the legal hour of 2am, so noise is no longer a factor. Like I said, regret and remorse are two different things. The wife actively followed her emotions and desires to get drunk and get laid, and only then did she think of the consequences. That reluctance to gladly accept the consequences is called regret, where remorse would require her to have thought of how her actions would affect others before hand.

Put a tracking chip in her phone. Never allow to leave the house without him. And always answer his calls in video chat at all times and show him around to know where she exactly. She did keep her end of the deal but the man didn't felt like she was his wife anymore. It felt more like he was a police man looking after a prisoner. Nonsense. Nearly every person has a story, where they got to drunk and ended up doing shit they never had any intention to do. He never planned nor wanted to cheat. But she failed to control her drinking and then a random dude influenced her to drink even more. She could not consent in that situation. And her shitty friends abandoned her to a wolf. It's an unfortunate circumstance more than anything.

No, she wasn't. She would know and would have said as much when she confessed to her husband, or any of the time afterward. She consented long before she got in bed or drunk enough to not be able to resist. Plus her friends had tried to take her away and she refused, again showing she wanted to cheat. A person knows the difference between when they experience regretting a decision they consciously made versus SA where she couldn't make a decision and was forced without the ability to respond.

Story 1 made me feel bad for everyone. The child, husband and wife. I don't disagree with his standards, nor his choice... but I hoped he sought mental health care. If not marriage counseling, then at least a therapist for himself. That's such a difficult position to be in. I can't even begin to understand. The story 1 I disagree with OP. It's her fault for getting too drunk and for prioritizing hanging out instead of staying at home. But cheating? The context he is that her drinking went out of control. Under influence you do things you wouldn't do, when not drunk. Her huge remorse after the did combined with honesty confirms that. There is a reason why you are told to avoid having sex with drunk people because drunk people cannot give consent, you can literally get rape charges for that. The main villains in this story are her "friends" that left her alone despite seeing her being too drunk. I still understand his feelings that he can't get out his wife cheating out of his head, so if he can't deal with it, better to break up. But the whole situation is an unfortunate circumstance rather than his wife having real intent to cheat on him.

Story 1: I’m not saying that you have to stay with her, or you have to forgive her. But if the thoughts of her and the other guy are what are really troubling you, and hurting you. You have to understand that a lot of times with cases like these. Your imagination is worse than reality. A lot of times some men will be thinking their spouses affair partner is some 6’3” Adonis with a huge wang that made her experience pleasures she had never felt before. But in reality it’s 2 drunk people fumbling over each other for 5 minutes. It could very well be that she didn’t even enjoy or remember the sex. I doubt some random buzzed guy from the bar was able to pleasure her more than her husband. Op’s wife clearly didn’t care about the other guy or even try to remember his name . I’m not saying it didn’t matter or it was a small mistake. But for OP’s own good he needs to stop hurting himself thinking about the act.

@@dinkyd1533 OP himself was able to somewhat move past the mistakes she did before the act. The thoughts that kept hurting him were his lingering paranoia of his wife and the other guys sex. I remember a betrayed husbands story, of how he was overwhelmed by the insecurity and triggering thoughts of why his wife chose her lover, fade away when he realized the man was less attractive and shorter than him. Realizing his wife betrayed him for really no good reason, helped him snap out of his depression and move forward with his life. Like OP said there will never be an acceptable answer for cheating. The other guy wasn't special enough to remember. He probably felt like shit when she started crying immediately after sex. His wife betrayed him for a cheap drunken thrill

"Your imagination is worse than reality" - she fucked another guy. How is that not exactly what happened? The ego on some of these people are unbelievable. There are so many stories of people who cheat and the person who is willing to tell you right away with true remorse and makes attempts unprompted to make it right is worth you sorting through your own feelings and emotions to come to better resolution than feeling sorry for yourself and divorcing because “you can’t stop thinking of her banging someone else”. I’m not saying you have to reconcile. But for the love of god quit being such a pussy and check your ego, get individual and couples therapy you’ll fuck your kid up more by quitting than showing them life’s tough and you have to work through shit to become your best person.
