In this quick video I clarify two points that I thought were worth doing a quick video on dealing with my previous video on modeling without subdivision surfaces.
I reference this video: • Modeling without subdi...

All the things that I am constantly afraid of in the blender, I meet by chance somewhere and realize that it is incredibly easy to do this! Thanks for the guides!

Subdiv fans will say you need to spend 4 more hours adjusting the topology until the pole is gone or moved somewhere else

This series has been incredibly useful. I'm currently modelling a 90s PC, and have done so far more efficiently without subdivision thanks to you. As a learner, most Blender tutorials start with sub-d, and I think it's because it creates instant results that impress. I'm thinking that's the wrong way now.

The right tool for the right job. SubD is great for many things, but sometimes a direct approach is more efficient.

I will say this way of the curve is a little simpler, but for more complex shapes a curve is a great thing to have up your sleeve.

very cool addition. I'm wondering what good approaches to more organic devices are. Like a canon camera with their smooth bumps and surfaces all around, i attempted to model some time ago, but had to give up at some point on it

I'm just starting out and this is super helpful! Will you be talking about how to add materials later on because that would be a life saver! Thank you, great videos!!

deleting every other spokes at the center of the circle would make them quads, and may improve subdivision model.

Not in this situation, it still results in visible artifacts because of the irregular shape of the triangles at the pole.
