As a jig tyer myself i much prefer to pour my own jig heads inserting my own style of hooks for tying...If i am tying for myself i use "Lil Nasty" sickle hooks BUT when tying for the public i use Gamakatsu hooks why ? Because here in Australia Sickle hooks are only really seen and accepted in our bass fisheries...Meanwhile for saltwater work customers prefer the Gamakatsu hooks...So that's the start of a custom jig for me...Then because I tie for multiple species i use differing styled and weighted heads... I also use Marabou, bucktail, rabbit fur, mylar- chenilles, silicone strips etc. I like your style of feather jigs Eric...keep up the great work...regards B.J.

Thanks for the lesson, I was making my feathers too long. What size of hooks do you use on the jigs? I’ve been using #2 on mine.
