That's the kind of comedy we can't make anymore, it's not politically correct. The Irish have always been good at taking a joke, but it's now looked upon as derogatory, nationalist, or to a degree, racist. You notice though, that in this kind of comedy, there's no profanity. It's a gentler form of comedy that makes you laugh at the joke, not the shock, and that's where most modern high profile comedians fail, because as soon as they open their mouths, you almost guarantee that within the first sentence, the "F" word will be heard. Not so with the comedians of old, where funny, was funny.

Mr. Peezy, I think that you may never have heard of this brilliant Brit-com entitled Chef! about a maniacal Anglo-African chef named Gareth Blackstock. You will love it when you make contact with it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chef! Another one that would be well worth your time is Black Adder.
