I remember first really listening to two steps from hell back in 2013ish. Would listen to them while I was early into body building and no lifing Skyrim. I've listened to their music and other composer's that fall into the whole epic/glory/fantasy type music that I suppose can be referred to as soundtrack ever since then on and off. Some of my first finds of this genre have been the audio CD's I would check out at this library called Alexander's library. It's been a rough 5 years since then but I always seem to come back to my treasured Celtic music, Gregorian chant, classical, and of course epic music such as TSFH, audiomachine, hans zimmer, Howard shore etc. Honestly this music can most certainly fuel you with blissful imagination or even conjure up the willpower/strength to do something you want to do. Truly incredible.

0:01 Ever since the discovery of an intact ancient scroll which was stored in the palace library by accident, a strange attracting melody was carved into the king's head, being played countless times day by day. The king contemplated on his throne for days, the scene where and when he discovered the scroll was playing an infinite loop in his mind. (THE FIRST 26 SECONDS IS THE SECRET MELODY THAT WAS PLAYED IN THE KING'S HEAD) 0:26 The king has decided to muster up all the bits of knowledge and information provided by that mysterious scroll and found out that what they will discover is beyond one's imagination and belief which can't be contained by a simple mortal's mind. 0:50 Being determined, the king planned the great expedition, he knew deeply that this wasn't something simple like a hunting excursion which lasts for 2-3 days. 1:03 Proceeded to aggregate the country's best warriors and knights before the departure, neglecting the fact that the kingdom could be at stake, having little to no great warriors to defend it. 1:16 Commenced the expedition, the soldiers were in high spirits, eager to unveil the king's "treasure" in no time. 1:29 Initially, there were not many obstacles and hindrances, but they seemed to be travelling aimlessly and even the king started to question himself about the purpose of this expedition. After a fortnight of trudging west of their country,, they were far from civilisation and sunken into despair. The king had multiple attempts of turning back, what gave him hope was the secret melody in his head. Meanwhile, he sensed something..... accompanied by a plethora of perilous threats which something miserable might happen. 1:41 A doglike ferocious beast was submerged from the ground out of nowhere, with 5 heads, each representing a primary element which is ( Fire, water, wood, metal/gold and soil/earth ) 水火金木土. Each head has an emblem which was also shown in the mysterious scroll. The beast was like 3 metres tall and 6 metres long, it resembles a greek Cerberus. The king and the dull soldiers once again laughed heartily, rejoicing and the battle spirits skyrocketed. 2:06 The beast has the lower hand, seeking an opportunity to use its magical prowess of 5 elements respectively to turn the tide. The troops stampeded with valour in coordination, embracing their death, sacrificing themselves with glory and honour for the king and the nation. 2:19 The king joined the fight. Even though they lost half of the troops, the soldiers are fighting with more courage than ever with their king fighting alongside them. The weakened beast summoned his minions as a distraction and tends to heal itself in a secluded site. The minions were like the smaller versions of itself without heads and magical prowess, not much of a threat but has never-ending strength and devour the opponents when they were too exhausted to retaliate. 2:31 The beast replenished its magical prowess from the surrounding aura and unleashed mixed elements of( fire+earth) flame rock volcanic terrain by stamping the earth with a fully charged magic. Some were too close to the area, either stamped to death or consumed by the lava beneath. Once again, the desperate king was hesitating to flee to minimise the casualties as the mortals were no match for a competent magical guardian beast. 2:43 A keen observant learned that a scale at the beast's chest gleamed with a yellow aura for a few seconds after unleashing a devastating attack. He surmised that the part of the body helps to regenerate its magical prowess for the next attack. An arrow with fire was struck promptly into the scale to satisfy his curiosity about the beast's weakness. 2:56 IT WORKED!!! The beast was irritated and growled in anger, screaming in agony and summoned more of his minions, perhaps all of its minions. The King praised the keen soldier and once again, the remaining soldiers cheered for him. The minions were still alive and kicking but that's not a big deal since they stop spawning until some time. The king decapitated the beast as swift as light. 3:20 The survivors grieved for the deaths of their companions who were killed by the deranged beast. Nonetheless, the melody stopped and vanished from the king's head as the carcass of the beast disintegrated into ashes. The king found out that this is merely a hallucination and ought to be devoured by the beast. Conclusion : We can assume that the king was quite an ill-fated person to release the curse of that scroll, and his journey was to break the curse, which was the irritating, troublesome, persistent yet mysterious sweet secret melody that played frequently in his mind. TKX guys, idk how to write this, legit have no direction and the song decides for me whether its going to be a climax, the song ended hastily so i concluded it without a good ending to suit the song's vibe, thank you everyone for reading it. English is not my native language but im trying my best , if there's any grammatic error or anything pls do leave a comment. (Written on 13th August 2022)

I knew, that in their music, there is some magic, but I was never able to describe it with words. I'm 15, it has been 5 years since I heard them for the first time and even now, I can't describe it... About this song... It's masterpiece. Don't understand, how Thomas doesn't run out of ideas :D I heard every TSFH song. I thought the most beautiful is Evergreen, but the part, that starts at 0:25 totally got me. When I heard the part, I got goosebumps all over the body :D I hope Thomas and Nick will never run out of their ideas :) #MusicMakesYouBraver

I don't know if this is just for me, but I can share and find out. I think their music carries a special magic from its roots of not being at all vocal. If I remember correctly, TSFH started with the purpose of making music for things like movie trailers; from the start is was meant to convey emotions and depths without words. It was the fact that they're so FREAKING GOOD at their job that allowed them to go beyond that, but they've never lost the path of trying to convey something, not with words, but with the interplay of sounds. To borrow a quote from another famous master of music "Music can name the unnameable and communicate the unknowable," -Leonard Berstein; I believe TSFH embodies that in a way few have done since some of the classical composers of old, and that allows them to tap into the magic inherent to music in a way few others can.
@hoanguyenthai91703 жыл бұрын
A little bit late for this but here is my thought on this piece and its title: it is a secret not because it is not allowed to be revealed but rather forgotten to time to the point of being a secret in history. The whole song feels like a slow revelation of a opulent and extravagantly magnificent place (maybe a palace) that is lost to time, with the beginning start the revelation in the present, then it brought us back to the idyllic time when this place was starting to be constructed with optimism of the future. Then, the music to us the beauty of the place at its peak with elegant grandiose of royal and emperors of old. Then finally its dramatic down fall by some reason as the place is in complete ruin as we are returned to present once more.

@@battlebear437 You can't say they don't have a good taste. Their taste is simply different, it is alright that they have their own opinion
@battlebear4375 жыл бұрын
barjakik yes, they can have their own opinion. Here’s a couple questions for you: 1) am I not allowed to have my own opinion? 2) why even be on this channel if they don’t like this type of music? 3) why dislike it and not ignore it? I personally don’t care for certain types of music (opera, heavy metal, death metal, country), so I won’t even go to those types of channels just to leave a dislike because, ya know, just gotta let those KZbinrs know their music is disliked...
@barjakik87385 жыл бұрын
@@battlebear437 Here are your answers: 1) Yes, you do. But saying someone's taste is bad is simply incorrect. 2) Who says they arrived here on purpose? They might as well find while listening to other music. 3) A dislike can also be an information to the author(s) of the music that the music has something wrong with it. For exemple, a lot of people disliked Catch Me just because it was a whole different kind of music than TSFH normally does, and they manifested by it their disappointement. I am not saying Catch Me is a bad song, neither Secret Melody is - by disliking, you inform the people who made the music that there's a problem with it. It is a problem of tastes, and nor their, nor yours or mine are "bad" or "good". Tastes are tastes, and you can't tell someone their taste is bad just because yours is different.
@battlebear4375 жыл бұрын
barjakik I meant to also say that I’ve seen people dislike videos just for the sake of disliking it...right from the get-go. I don’t understand that at all. Also, I edited my original comment to state that it’s my own opinion.

Every time I discover a new TSFH song, I rate it in the comments below. With amazing instrumentation, soaring horns, and a beautiful wind solo, I am proud to give this song a *9/10.* Feel free to agree or disagree in the replies, I want to know what my fellow TSFH nerds think!

The start reminds me of the Skyrim OST, and it would have been truly awesome if the final fight against Alduin was with this song blaring in the background!
