今回は居合道の全国大会(七段の部)で優勝された原田先生を取材しました。居合道のすべてを伝えられなくとも何か感じてもらえるのではと願ってます。 This time we interviewed Mr. Harada, the winner of the national iaido competition (7th dan division). Even if we can't tell you everything about Iaido, we hope you will be able to feel something about it❗️

I am a fairly new iaidoka in the United States. Iaido is really helpful for my mental health and helps me focus my mind and spirit. Lately I've been feeling like I'm going through the motions, but seeing Harada-san practice with such focus, and hearing him talk about the joy he receives from practice, helps me to seek that same joy and feeling in my own practice. I'm grateful that I saw this video today!

Thank you for this informative video about Iaido. I hope Japanese people will never forget the beauty and spirituality of their martial arts.
I get paper cuts so there is no way I'm doing this sport.

Sadly the art has focused on etiquette and fineness but the majority can even perform Giri or cut with the sword.

Maybe they pay more attention and achieve the correct outcome. U just can t see it

Etiquete (REIHO) is the essence of Budo, without it, it becomes merely an sport or enterteinment. It’s saddly when a school ( RYU) doesn’t pay attention to it.

@@TheBUTOKUKAI The essence was martial, WAR! The "Etiquette" was the swift and precise cut of the opponent. Today there is an art for unleashing, an art for forms, an art for cutting, and even an art for dressing... The whole idea has been divided so much it has lost its essence.
