Can’t believe you were in Combe Martin, Lived there from the age of 7-12. Best place to grow up in as a kid. Still live locally in Braunton. The shots that you take during your 2 episodes so far are amazing you have some talent there. I always like to go back there every year with the family just for a day just so I can bore the family with tales of what I got up to as a kid. The place is magical even more so when the sun is shining, great walks especially up little hangman and big hangman. Not sure if they still do the carnival that was always a big thing. There was also a thing called the wheel barrow race that started at the top of the village and ended at the bottom of the village and each pub you stopped at you had to drink a pint.😂 There used to be 10 pubs from top to bottom so you can imagine what it was like for those coming down in the wheel barrow at the end. Very funny. Hope there are more episodes of Combe Martin. Love it……… Thankyou.👍🏻

The drone footage is good. I haven't seen Combe Martin from the air before; frequently flat on my back looking up though. Ha ha a mispent youth. Drinking cider makes your knee muscles week.

We live in Barnstaple and love Combemartin with rock pools and crabbing being run. Love both videos makes me appreciate it more seeing it through your eyes.it is such a beautiful place.

Oh no… I was feeling the urgency of the yomp back to the campsite to eat the fish and chips while they were fresh… nothing worse than having to wait and eat them later on. We went to the same area a few years ago as a camper try out - but in the back of the car 😳 …let’s just say it wasn’t all to plan and thank god it’s not stopped us getting our own van. Loved having the freedom to just go somewhere since we got it before Christmas.

Not ideal trekking four hundred yards, up a hill with your Fish and Chips - in fairness, I managed to make this years week in the van at Whitby Holiday park - epic fish and chips near there, and plenty of places to chose from. 🤣 And you have Whitby brewery about a mile from the campsite. Love the boat image - very nice. And Golden hour was when I would expect to see you using your camera. Looks like a cracking break - hope you all enjoyed yourselves.

Hi Colin, where do I start? Loved the video , terrific quality and quantity with gorgeous drone shots. We love Devon and Cornwall and, I have to say, being based in South Staffordshire, we are spoiled for choice. Wales and the Ceredigion coastline is less than 100 miles away, we have the Staffordshire moors and Peak District within comfortable reach and the South West Coast just a few hours more (drove home from Devon in July in just 4h30m Your campsite has gone onto my wanted list, so thank you. As a photographer of many decades, I have to say I'm impressed with the images your grownup camera is giving you, even though the resolution we see is much poorer than the image you took thanks to KZbin restrictions. But, there's a problem with the video that I have to mention... the little insert that read Devon 0 Yorkshire 1... Come on, be fair, now that you're back home, walk down to your favourite chippy, place your purchase in a plastic bag and walk around for twenty minutes before scoffing outside in your back garden. Then do the comparison marking! Fish n chips will ALWAYS taste better when eaten freshly cooked and not steamed and fish n chips will always taste better when near the coast. It's the law. There's a mathematical equation to prove it, where d is the distance from the sea front, x is the portion size, l is the length of the queue, q is the medium they're cooked in (vegetable oil, corn oil, beef fat, etc), t is the time between receiving food over counter and actually eating it, w is the weather and b is the quantity of beer consumed prior to eating. There's also a few alphas, lamdas and thetas tossed in there, C is a universal constant and omega is the degree of hunger experienced by the consumer. I wanted to write out the formula in full but my tablet's keypad is restricted with the symbols I can use. You're just going to have to take my word for it. Under strict lab controlled procedures, the results would be Devon 1 Yorkshire 0. And as a Staffordshire man, married to a Yorkshire lass, that's not an easy conclusion for me to publish. Thank you, as Darren says it's about a 10 minute walk to the beach, the longest part being through the campsite but even with my gammy foot it wasn't far at all ... ;)

Fantastic video today Colin. Great drone shots and sunrise and sunset photos. Love the boat shot with the beach foreground. Glad you guys had a well deserved break from day to day and good for your mental health to be with family. Question on photography front, as a new amateur, should I shoot in Raw or JPEG? I have photoshop but not yet edited any. Thanks in advance. Glen

Thanks so much Glen, if you're comfortable shooting JPEG and you can "get it as you want it" in camera with filters, correct exposure etc then keep shooting JPEG but there are many variables to an image that mean they may need editing and RAW gives you so much more room to correct any mistakes and/or improve an image. I was told a while back to make a good image great and not a bad image good when editing etc. I'd also suggest getting Lightroom instead of Photoshop, it's so much easier to use than Photoshop as it's geared for photographers (it's by Adobe) Hope this helps bud and enjoy shooting
