Looks awesome, great finishing a job. I’m envious you get to work in an empty house. All my jobs have homes full of furniture and people living there. It really slows you down.

I get my empty houses because I never book work in advance so I'm nearly always available when someone buys a house and needs it painted quickly. If your booked up and always busy painting houses full of furniture, you will never get the empty houses as they usually need them done at short notice

Top notch work Greg! Love that you’re semi retired and still doing incredible work. I’ve been a framer, window and door hanger, done concrete work, roofing and painting, helped build homes but I don’t care what anyone says painting is one of the hardest trades not only on your body but also on your mind. It’s hard work and you do it exceptionally well!

The color on the ceilings is lexicon quarter and the doors and trim is lexicon half.

I believe prices here are very different to your country, new homes are paid by the floor plan metre rate, usually the outside is included in this. if the house is 300m2 x (set price by the builder). We used to paint them for as low as $19 a metre( includes paint) but I think now it probably around $25 for budget builders and between $35 - $50 for high quality

Great job Gregory 10/10. I am a painter in qld and love watching older guys like yourself and learning tips and extra tricks of the trade. Quick question do you let your interior wall paint down with a bit of water to reduce lap lines, you know when the light hits a wall from the side and it looks ropey, especially with low sheen? I never thin mine down, but if needed you can use mineral turpentine, stir well

Mirror finish was used with oil based gloss enamels by applying multiple coats,, but now the water based enamel do not have enough shine to create one. Spray finish with water based is best you can get.

Yes, it was common when we used oil based a lot. Tipping off oil based paints with fine brush but the paints today are claggy and difficult so not possible unless you spray finish
