I follow a lot bikers here on YT, but I have never, never seen someone like you, with such impressive films. It is nearly unbelievable what you have seen and in some parts of your videos I look on my screen open mouthed. Hope your trips will never find an end! Thanks very much! Actually needless to mention: You are not only a tough and brave biker you are also a great photographer and videolfilmer too!

Hi Martijin, you posted this on my 55th birthday, I watched parts 1-2, but this one is really kicking my butt and screaming, get the bike, get the bike, get the bike and go. I am still fit enough and have little holding me back. It's far too easy to see all the reasons not to start a journey and often very hard to pedal that first mile. There is something about your presentation that inspires in a very humble but reachable way. Today I found the bike and will pick it up soon, The gear is ready, I simply need to brush up on the tech, decide the route and go, just go. No more wait and see, no what ifs, no, there is always tomorrow. Thank you and please keep posting....John

John, the tech is optional. Few adventurists actually make videos, most content with photos on the phone these days. I’ve done a bit of touring in the US and just go. It doesn’t need to be months at a time. A week or two and it’s time to get home to do something. Then a bit later go on another section. The Pacific Coast is great. Go in fall after school starts and the RV pressure is less. Go southbound so the ocean is on the right side. Do the Great Allegheny Passage and the C&O Canal. Do the Katy In Missouri. If you still want more go across, always west to east. The winds you see prevail from the west.

I am still a young person and am about to graduate high school in the US and I dream of becoming an artist and therapist. I just want to thank you for one, giving me something to watch while running on the treadmill during the cold winter days, two, opening my eyes to the beauty of so many other parts of the world and people, and three igniting an inspiration within me to explore the world and make that a priority in my life. Thank you for all of the beautiful work you're putting into these documentaries. They have brought me such profound joy. Sending love and hope to anyone reading this.

We are waiting with anticipation and understand. Posting these videos of your other adventure is brilliant. I also think that they are most enjoyable. I know it takes you a lot of time to prepare these - but they are so worth it. Good job!! I live in the mountains of Patillas, Puerto Rico. This area is a tropical rain forest. Usually by November you have short quick storms and beautiful days. It really hasn’t stopped raining since Hurricane Fiona. A few breaks here and there. So I don’t know how you did so much bicycling in all that rain. Cheers to you. Your journey was impressive. Overcoming so much adversity. You inspire me to do more. Thank you.

The part where you said, "I want to go back to the Pan-American Highway," was when I was like, damn, you would love a dual-sport motorcycle. The lighter the better for back roads. I did some cycling in Ecuador and, man, it was tough. I lived there for 2 years and had my old DR650 with me and could hit every back road you could imagine in any terrain or weather. Fast or slow. Congratulations on completing this trip. That really took a lot of strength. It's admirable. I'm showing this video to my students. It's got to be one of the best out there. I'll be doing China to Morocco by motorcycle in a year. I still haven't done a big cycling trip, but you've inspired me to give it a try some day.

Incredible. Again. You're really a gifted cinematographer and storyteller as many have said. I'd love to hear your personal reflections on trips like this, mabye at the end. What level of fitness do you think you need to do this? Do you think this is something anyone can do? What level of mental endurance do you feel you need? How much time have you invested researching all the gear and routes? What are your thoughts about loneliness and how do you confront that? Do you feel like you have any roots after traveling so much? Where is home in your heart? How do you finance such a trip? You've chosen a very unique path for your life. It's profoundly interesting. Thank you for sharing it with all of us.
