I'm 17 and love skiing and two years ago, at the start of the season, my friend got covered in a small avalanche, luckily we had all the gear and i could dig him out in 3-4 minutes but just imagining what he felt under there, not sure if i was under there too, is enough for me to ski completely differently. Snow kills, be careful out there, im lucky it was just a wake up call and we are still friends but really, be careful.

I'm literally crying at 14:30 in the video, pausing to type this. I can not wrap my head around seeing the avalanche take off right before you, after you've been IN it 2 years ago.... and then think: YES, LETS GO! It is literally beyond my wildest imagination to be able to do that. I've been struggling with fears and how to overcome them, from the silly things to the realistic things (which is going better bit by bit), but to me the power that you have in that decision is very much epic. I've got a big sport history but I'm new to skiing at 33 years old, doing it for 4 years now (minus the first Corona year) and I'm improving each time and it is mostly fear that holds me back. But I just want to share here that it is pure joy and emotion that I get out of your video's and it motivates me to keep going through those fears. Thank you Niko and the entire team

Yeah very lucky, at least from the footage they show. I can't figure out whether the bravado is just some jokes and they are safe...but that doesn't come through all the time. Hope they stay safe and healthy, still love the vids. I don't think they are role models to look to for backcountry safety though 😅

i like that you guys had longer shots of skiing down from the FPV perspective like at @25:11. Sometimes the quick cuts away from the drone gives perspective but you lose the feeling of following niko or krister in their run.

Nice video, and great skiing! Note: the High Arctic is only accessible by sea or air. Lofoten is in the Low Arctic, by far - even bordering Sub-Arctic. Southernmost High Arctic land in Europe is the remote Norwegian islands of Bjørnøya and Hopen, in the middle of the Barents Sea and about Half-way between Nordkapp and Svalbard.
