Hi NIcolai! Could you send a link on the snowshoes when bootpacking. In norwegian I would call it "mini-truge". Thank you.

A slope releases under tour feet and you laugh? I think the weak link in the team has been identified.

Such a crazy story, I love that scarpa is such a big brand in europe but they've really nailed it. Feels very down to earth and grounded. Super happy you are working with them.

Thank you so much for the videos Niko. I am currently stuck at home after another achilles rupture. So inspired by Bernt, can't wait to start rehab/training and return to the things I love.

Hi Niko. What ski do you bring touring in more bad conditions? Do you ever go Navis Freebird?
@Nikolai_Schirmer8 күн бұрын
Hi, I haven’t skied that much but I’m a big fan of the orb freebird! It skis really well for the size
@Sørennielsen1237 күн бұрын
@ Would you be comfortable taking the Draco freebird as your only ski for a week of touring in terms of versatility?

Me watching this like "Yeah I could totally do that, I don't know if I could get down after getting up, but if I had the fitness I could do that... right?" then by the end I was just like "no you absolutely could not do that don't even think about it."

I'm only just getting into backcountry terrain, but in all my avalanche safety courses I've been cautioned against digging pits to determine if our planned line is "in". A pit was never supposed to give a go-ahead, only a call to take more caution with terrain choice. Obviously you didn't show the entire process of your pit, but from what was shown, I got the impression that your pit boosted your confidence. I'd be interested in hearing what your perspective is on the snowpack that day.

I’m doing a more detailed video on how I work in avalanche terrain. We only use pits when uncertain about the snowpack, generally when entering a new area. To get information
