RIP Pishi ;_; having a cat outside is calling for trouble, ours passed away too, he loved going out, one day he didn't return, we were looking for him for about a week before someone reached out to us telling us they took him off the road. Nothing you can do but move on. I'd appreciate more people doing what you're doing, having more options is never a bad thing, I like how you're inviting a competition to enter your field but I know you don't see it like that. Mapping is fun but it's not exactly easy to understand what makes a "good" map, your videos are helping a ton, yet again thanks and congratulation on this milestone. Take a break every once in a while too, even if you see it as a routine, nobody's going to be mad if there is no video for a week... or a month. Keep at it!

31:15 I'll never see your videos the same way lol. Seriously, was expecting you to stop and say it was a joke ;p As for your videos, I don't think it would be even remotely right to expect weekly, long videos each week. It's actually pretty insane how much time you actually put into your channel. I mean, the editing combined with the commentary actually makes it feel like 1 minute, and that's not as easy to do as it sounds. Thanks for your efforts!

Here for another year of pishi. Video format is really nice for explaining things and I should consider it as I have been helping out people in the mapping sphere with all kinds of obscure mapping concepts or ideas for well over a year now. But editing looks like a pain oof. Oh well you get used to the cold water eventually First vid on a mathematical model for osu! maps just to alienate all possible viewers!

Your passion and drive is very admirable and you create quite entertaining videos. I don’t even play Osu, but I remember your cod zombies videos. When you made the transition, you kept me captivated enough to remain a viewer. You are definitely talented enough to translate your editing, video production, and overall drive into something much more lucrative.

Honestly, watching pishi videos have been less of a Intro to Mapping class but rather a Mapping Appreciation class. Seeing maps for more than a bunch of circles and sliders and understanding mapping and mapper choices makes for a more fulfilling experience playing.

Huh its been 2 years, and 1 since i lost interest in mapping ( until now at least). Funny enough, i was kinda mentored by squirrelpascals and another fellow by the name of _dt3 after i ran into both of them modding my awful map and me getting offended for no reason when my work was rather terrible. This connects to asaigas point where your videos are more focused on people who know the basics and a bit more. I feel like i wouldnt have understood anything in your videos had i watched them prior to squirrel and dt, and if i did understand stuff, i wouldnt have picked up on it as fast if i didnt know my basics.

I wonder if there is something interesting to say about "songs that are produced with osu! in mind". I don't know if such songs exist. I believe they exist because there are currently 25 featured artists (right?). Some of them are osu! players and some are mappers as well. This is really possible, but I wonder if there is something interesting to talk about these songs, or not because thousands of song weren't made with osu! in mind and they got pretty good as beatmaps. Anyway.. just a silly question.

I think I sort of did this in the comments of the 1 year anniversary video, but I wanna do it again and thank you for making these videos. (also sorry for making this really long lol) I've watched every video since the beginning of your osu!mapping series and started mapping because of it, gaining friends in the community and finding a lot of enjoyment in creating maps. It's honestly kinda surreal to see such a honest expression of your journey with creating these videos on a topic this specific for so long. It kinda shows the biggest strength of KZbin allowing video creators like you to make content that even because of it's narrow audience can become loved and feel actually quite sincere and genuine. I've watched content on this Plattform for so long yet I've never really seen a video that interested me this much and talked about so many subjects I cared about even though as you said yourself this video isn't actually that coherent in a way. I especially find it interesting how you approached these criticism people started express in this moment as it's in my opinion more relevant than ever before, I personally even started to have some of my own. Though you addressed most of the ones that I think actual relate to you, the most important to me being UC's. As he suggested there really is a large gap in how people approach mapping opposed to yours and I actually enjoy both your philosophy and some of the people related to for example UC and dislike kinds of mapping ideologies you never even mention. With all that in mind though I think you made it very clear that this isn't inherently your fault and I don't really think people hold that against you (idk I might be wrong I have no evidence). The problem is that nobody besides you and Mo really makes these videos, either the people who could have no interest or aren't capable of editing, writing, recording etc. I myself have been taught or have learned some concepts opposing to your ideas I'd really like to talk about, but I don't have a PC powerful enough to even really attempt editing. Again my bad for making this so long, but I really felt like actually saying thank you and attempting to make some comment about the subjects in your video. It's really weird how I talked like twice to you for like multiple seconds ever yet feel compelled to thank you with this much rambling on a way less personal KZbin comment section. Thanks for getting me into mapping and by extension a lot of other really pretentious or memey shit

I think your most helpful videos are your first tutorial videos. I was directed to your channel when you were maybe two or three months into making your series. Before watching your first video, I didn’t know how to make a red tick. I didn’t know how to make a return slider without hitting play while holding a slider. Most importantly, I didn’t know what offset was. Every single video (and I do mean every single video) I could find about how to map would say “offset is pretty complicated, so don’t worry about it right now”. They would then move on, and I’d never find out what it was or why it was important, which is why my first attempts at mapping always had me going into 1/16s to find the right timing. The fact that you included instruction on and explanation of offset in your first video helped me so much.

Damn tbh, I've been wanting to do myself some mapping videos as well and you gave a good representation now how they can be made. 1 thing what has always been a problem is experience. Even though I've been basically been working with osu and mapping for 3 years now, idk if the videos would turn out something what I'd want to represent. Getting ideas is pretty easy, but language barrier is the huge thing what would limit at this point. But damn 2 years, tbh, I've been checking almost your every video since you started doing them. They're detailed, nicely edited and these ~10 minutes go pretty fast. And yeah, I wouldn't recommend to just tell every new mapper to watch these videos, as firstly they wouldn't have much idea where to start from and how the easiest mapping even works. If you want to start mapping, you should firstly invest some time into getting know editor and the most basic things, then the videos surely can help. :)
