The four kingdoms: Aragon, Castile, Leon, and Navarre. The royal residence is Al-CA-zar. I saw saw Sevilla 32 years ago. Gorgeous. Nice that you saw Matthew and Michael. What sweeties. You climbed the Giralda Tower where I encountered a teacher and family from Brooklyn (St. Anne's School) when I visited. When I visited in April 1987 the orange trees of Sevilla were just in bloom and the city had such a fragrance.

If I remember correctly, the tower had ramps so the men who sounded the Muslim call to prayer could ride horses to the top so they wouldn't be winded by walking up stairs. So guys, what is your recommendations for "must visit" places in Sevilla? Also, what company did you use for the tour? I'll be in Sevilla at the end of August/early September and I was so excited when I saw this video!! I was in Sevilla once about 23 years ago and we literally had one day, so we went to the Basilica. :(

Seeing you checking in to your accommodations in Sevilla reminded me of a trip my partner and I took to the Grand Canyon. We had made the reservations as cheaply as possible, and when we arrived, the young woman checking us in told us that it would be possible to upgrade to another facility. When we asked what the difference was she said, "The upgrade is to a regular hotel, the place you're currently scheduled for is more of a hostile environment." Somewhat confused, we opted for the upgrade, and it wasn't till about 30 seconds later that I figured out she had actually said "hostel."

I believe there are ramps so that royalty didn't have to climb the stairs. There is one tower like that in Copenhagen too. Great video!
