I was raised on Flash games. Working alongside these legends is the greatest honor of my life. I hope for Flash games and devs to remain a constant pillar of 2 Left Thumbs publishing! Thank you all so much for your support :)

@@2leftthumbs It's been cool to watch the vids for a while and see you publish some games! I remember watching someone I know play one of them a while back (loved the pr2 mention too!)

A while ago, I found a game called forest of spades, it was pretty good and had tight mechanics, but I’ve lost it for a very long time
@Nzargnalphabet8 ай бұрын
Although I think that was just a location in the game, but I’ve been looking for it for a long time, it might’ve been on cool math, because I was playing it at school, but I genuinely don’t remember what it was called, it was mostly black and white with simple yet sharp graphics, and when you got to the forest of spades, you could swap between red and blue platforms having collision which led to even deeper platforming, if someone could find that, it would make me extremely happy

I still wish more people knew about Tasselfoot's "Give Up" (and its sequel), the idea and execution is honestly amazing, as the game constantly challenges you to beat something that feels impossible, only for then to add even more challenge on top of what you just played. I also adore the commercial release, "Never Give Up", being just more of what made it great, with added incentives like exploring thanks to items and coins hidden in every level, getting fast times, and not dying once. Overall, super underrated.
@2leftthumbs8 ай бұрын
I don't think I ever beat either one. I'm a fraud!! But I agree, I'm shocked Never Give Up didn't perform better. A super fun and polished game, that felt tailor made for big youtuber reactions!

Platform Racing 2 is nostalgic for so many reasons. The first game that I played when I was a kid, all my friends were playing it all the time. It was more than just a game I think, that's why so many people went back to it. It was a form of status, who had the highest rank among your friends, who beat the "impossible" level to get the Top Hat. Who could get the Cowboy Hat. It was all those things as a kid. It also made me really creative, I learned the basics of drawing, my handwriting and to communicate in English, as I am a non-native speaker. I learnt so much, and I have so much to thank this game for. That's why the community is so active until this day, cause everyone wants to reminisce to times when everything was simple. It's also a game with a lot of history, with a lot of interesting people you met, with a lot of lore, with a lot of creativity and so much more. I feel bad for those who didn't experience Platform Racing 2 during 2009-2014.

Yeah those were deffo the peak times of Pr2 (prob 2008 - 2013 but I didn't start until 2009), it's still fun although I do agree it'd be a lot more fun if more people came back to play it. Pr3 I tend to play more mostly because it has the tournaments now and more than 4p support.

My favourite game I still play it (you can see my name in the vid in the forum bit haha) There's also a Discord server along with the Forum and the Discord Server is used a lot more so you can find races easier there I play Pr3 too! I saw you used a bit of Pizza's old tournament vid lol, people make crazy stuff in Pr3 with the lua coding Platform Racing 4 is a massive meme, I call it the Silksong of the Platform Racing series

My favorite flash platformer is Mission in Snowdriftland. It has a really interesting history with it being commissioned by Nintendo as a holiday promotion. The game was lost media for 14 years and latter the devs were able to remake the game with new content and release it on steam. The original flash version was preserved on flash point, and if you are interested in the story Nick Robinson made a great documentary on youtube about the story. I hope you are able to cover this gem in a future video.

The game called "Level Up!" from Newgrounds always stuck in my head as a cool and unique platformer that I would recommend to anyone looking for something that isn't *only* a platformer. Kongregate also had one called Endeavor that's a bit neat and has multiple endings, but much more of a time sink.

Here's my favorite : N - the way of the ninja. It's plaforming at its simplest form : left right jump, momentum management, with a high skill ceiling, comparable to Trackmania. But now that flash is gone, there is still N++ that gets a less steep learning curve. Some of the original levels suddenly became crazy hard.

Super mario 63 is a pretty big and good flash game. But my favourite one would probably be super mario bros crossover. The hardest dificulty option makes the levels basicly become their own cool kaiso remixes of the original ones, and all the charachters play well exept for links jump being too short. (Also, the game does get laggier over time, but if you close and re open the game it becomes smooth again) One i think is quite underrated is owatas big adventure (i think its actual name is in Japanese) which is one of the first troll games, but manages to be quite original, expansive and well made (though quite hard)

I have a question, i hope you read this. Why hasn't Brad ever reused the level arts for world 1,2 and 3 from the ps3 version? Those look way more detailed. I know that EA probably own the background arts and assets but isn't there a way Brad could get them somehow? And if so, do you guys plan on adding it to the classic pack?
