The entrance you came through is a new park that was just expanded within the last 2 years. It's 3 times larger than the original park. And because of this, there are not enough pandas yet to fill it up, so there are many empty areas waiting for future development. Local visitors usually enter from the south gate, which is the oldest entrance to the park.

I visited the base several years ago. I still remember the day I got up at 4:30 AM to wait for the base to open because I knew the pandas only show up outdoors in the early morning. It was worth getting up so early, haha.

现在这个季节看熊猫需要早到。基本上需要早上5点多去排队，开门就冲进去，七点熊猫放在外场，可能1个小时就收回去了。气温到26度就没有外场熊猫了😂这也是为什么人那么少的原因，都看完了走了😂熊猫在外场蔡更可爱🐼

@@TwoMadExplorersIn most Chinese cities, the days are very hot during June, July, and August. For travel during these months, it is recommended to visit Yunnan, Ili in Xinjiang, or Tibet, where the temperatures are more comfortable.

Fu Xian Hu/lake is recommended if you ever go to Yunnan province,spend one or two nights in Hilton hotel by the lake, enjoy the flame dance in the evening, sailing in the lake, super cheap delicious blueberry on the street, rock pot fish and bronze pot rice in any restaurant, Cambrian museum, the sunset… it’s just beautiful.

Pandas don't like heat. So most of the times thye will try to stay indoor! And yes, this place is huuuuuge!! I was in Chengdu during May and it was quite hot already!

@@dice138I just find it strange that two full-time backpackers should plan their travel routes professionally and economically. They went from Chengdu to Chongqing, and then from Chongqing back to Chengdu to see pandas. In the video, they asked for suggestions on the next travel route, but in fact, the time they posted the video was almost two months different from when they filmed it. The suggestions made by netizens in the reply were meaningless to them. In the latest video, they said they would go to Guangdong and Yunnan, but that was during the May Day holiday, which was almost two months ago. I think they left China a long time ago.

@@chendong-sh4cf They have said it the first day they landed China that they were on the 15 days visa free. If you have follow them along like me or a lot of us here. You would know they came to China around the Labor Day holiday and they should have already left China about a month ago. They might go some other countries or taking a break. But they have already posted message recently that they are coming back soon to maybe Guangdong or Yunnan province. Heck, they might there taking vlogs already as we speak.
