I want to clarify that the name of the memorial is the Memorial Hall for the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre by the Japanese Invaders, not the Massacre Memorial Hall. It commemorates the 300,000 people who died in that massacre, not the massacre itself.

Although I'm a Chinese person living in Europe, and my partner is European, I still enjoy seeing how you explore China from a foreigner's perspective, especially when you genuinely experience and immerse yourselves in the culture. Recently, I've been binge-watching all of your past videos every day. By the way, I’ve learned so much English from watching your videos, like when you’re eating and use so many adjectives to describe the texture of the food. But when it comes to me and my boyfriend, we’re just like, “Wow, delicious!” and then dive right into eating, haha!

The white thing covered the tree trunks are skirt made of lime water, they can reflect 10%~40% of the sunlight. This is my home town. I grow up at the Southeast University as my grandparents were both from the University. 28:11 you passed by the University. Nanjing's summer is infamous for its unbearable heat. Keep in mind this is a city with 9-10 million population, and you do not see many people on the street. The heat is the reason. Nanjing is definitely one of the most developed cities in China. Apart from Beijing and Shanghai, Nanjing has (or one of?) the most "good" universities in China. You should try "素什锦" in Nanjing, that's my favourite.

That glass tower on the other side of the river is where they discovered the relics of the Buddha skull usnisa. The original porcelain tower was destroyed in the wars. It is the one printed on the carry out boxes in the west. They rebuilt the glass tower and made it a museum and move the usnisa to Niushou Mountain area, where they built a extravagant palace out of a quarry to securely store the treasure underneath

Welcome to Nanjing! I've lived in Nanjing for almost 20 years. I did go to 中华门 10 years ago with my family. But I never been there since then. Your video reminds me a lot of things before. Time chages. It seems didn't change 中华门,but it did change me. BTW, the 地锅鸡 you ate would be even better with rice.😄

❤❤❤Hey! I’m a subscriber of your channel from China. I don’t know if you can see this but I really want to give some advice about your trip especially on eating if you want to know. There are basically 4 things I want to talk about. 1. If you want to get a proper experience of the local cuisine, it’s never a good idea to look for them in the street food area. I can see how much you love the street food, but it is acknowledged and agreed by all Chinese people that street food in every city across China are basically the SAME. That means no matter which city you go all across China, you can always find those same food in that city’s street food areas, so they cannot stand for any local cuisines but just something to fill the belly when you walk. I’m not saying that they are not delicious, sometimes they are excellent. But they just can’t perform you the right and whole picture of what the local food should be like when you come to a new region. It’ll be way much better if you go to a local restaurant. 2. How to find a proper and nice restaurant? The best way is surely to have local friends to guide you to the right place, and maybe order food for you. If you don’t have such local friends, it is highly recommended that you just ask a random local guy on the street or whatever, ask him(her) if he’s local, if the answer is yes then ask him what restaurant he recommends that can represent that region’s cuisine. It’s interesting to ask different people and see if the answers are the same isn’t it! Once you get to the place and not so sure about what to order, just ask the waiter/waitress what’s their famous specialties. And all the communications above can be smoothly done by a translator APP. I don’t know what APP are you currently using but it seems that it has failed several times. Maybe you can try Apple translator from App Store on your iPhone. (All the 2 subjects above are like in general, there’re still 2 things next are more specific.) 3. When it comes to Chinese hot pot, it’s always hard to avoid talking about 海底捞. The logo of it is just “Hi” and the full name in English is Haidilao Hot Pot. It has branches in almost every city, so you can find it in any city you visit. About this Haidilao hot pot, I can say if you ask any random guy from anywhere in China about what’s the best hot pot restaurant, the answer may be various but Haidilao is always in the top 3 options. It may not be the best option for someone, but it is always a standard option for high quality hot pot and everything in it never goes wrong. Last thing about flavor, instead of the spicy Mala flavor, the tomato flavor is also widely loved in China. Maybe it could also be a nice option for you. 4. If you go to Beijing someday, you probably want to try the Beijing duck. The best and most decent option is always 大董Da-Dong, but it can be very expensive there for a meal. There are still some nice and less expensive options such as 全聚德Quan-Ju-De and 四季民福Si-Ji-Min-Fu, choose whichever you like. Have a nice trip in China.
