Pandas are not very good at reproducing, and they only become fertile once every three years in the wild. If this had been thousands of years ago, when human activity was less, pandas could have managed to survive. But human development has posed a threat to their survival. Without human intervention, pandas that only become fertile once every three years would soon become extinct.

The panda you missed is the hottest panda named huahua in China, but it doesn't matter if you miss it. It's just that you missed many scenic spots in Sichuan briefly this time, such as Leshan Giant Buddha, Emei Mountain, Jiuzhaigou and other world-class scenic spots. The lines were long because the panda they were seeing is none other than the mega celebrity panda Hehua lol. She really stood out among all panda due to her short height + no neck.

I also recommend you go to the Sanxingdui Museum, which is only about 1-hour drive from Chengdu. That's a very mysterious ancient monument. I been to here each time I went to Chengdu.

gotta get away from the tourist areas if you want to avoid crowds. there are also a lot of restaurants and food courts inside those malls which might be a little less busy.

Red pandas are really cute. In some other places in China you might actually get a chance to interact with them. Some staffs even let you feed them with some fruits. I have seen people giving red pandas grapes and that scene looks absolutely adorable.

We spent 23 days in China and we only travel during school holidays, I work full time and my children are in full time education, I would never take them out of school to travel, education is very important.
