Hi Luke and Naomi, as a Yunanese living in Ireland now, I'm so so happy to see you are in Yunan. I watched all your videos in China and I absolutely love you guys! Luke is funny and Naomi is so cute, I love both of you are so open minded and genuine. It's a long post here and could be overwhelming, but I just can't make it short when it comes to the recommendations of traveling to Yunnan. These are just some personal recommendations and every one has their own preferences and tastes so please don't feel bad if you don't go to the places that I mentioned here. 1. Restaurants: as some other friends already mentioned here, it's the perfect season for wild mushrooms. Here are two restaurants for mushroom hotpot: Shanhai Dianjun Yinxiang （山海 滇菌印象）and Ai Shang Jun (爱尚菌）as others recommended. Just a reminder that wild mushrooms could be pricy because they are very hard to find and very seasonal. One way to do it is tell the restaurant your budget and let them select mushrooms for you. 2. Accommodation: around Green Lake (翠湖公园）or Nanping Street(南屏街）will be good. Easy to get around. 3. Transportation: basically metro can take you to most places but when it comes to getting curtain places, such as specific restaurant, taking a taxi might be easier. You might have noticed there are not many traditional taxis on the road because most of them are booked online. You can go to your Alipay, search Didi and that's the company to go for taxi. Money will be paid through Alipay as well when you getting off the taxi. Just bear in mind to choose the starting place that easy for the driver to park and find you. The car licence plate will be shown on your order. 4. Places to go: it all depends on how long you will stay so I'll just list some places as a reference. In Kunming, go to Nanping Street city center（南屏街）, Green Lake Park（翠湖公园），Dianchi Lake (海埂大坝), Xishan West Mountain（西山）. I highly recommend you go to my hometown Dali if you have time. And as you planed, go to Tibet direction and you can think about going to Shangrila （香格里拉) along the way. That's just absolutely stunning natural sceneris. 5. Groceries: as others mentioned, Zhuanxin traditional farms market（篆新农贸市场）is an amazing place to see all the fresh vegetables and fruits and mushrooms and meat etc., but if you are looking for some familiar daily stuff like yogurt and such, Hema(盒马）will be a good supermarket to go. Watching your videos feels like you bringing me back home, and they are so nicely done. Feel free to contact me anytime and very best luck in Yunnan!

Luke's Train meal is one of the Cantonese famous " Hakka " dish " Steam pork belly with preserve vegetable ( as written on the package ) many food are not serve commercially pack , but this dish is exceptional. . Looking forward of your video in another part of China , you will fell in love with Kunming , I was told it's less of city life style with vast greenly landscape ..etc , we will able to confirm all this on your video . enjoy the adventure .. For any taxi driver park his car and look for his passenger in a terminal is never happen in any western country , they most likely sit in his car with the meter running and wait .

It might be a miscommunication as far as the hotel room supposed to be for family with kids. You could ask the hotel staff to to get you another room. Luke, I like your being honest about the suggestion from a fan on economy class of the highspeed rail train. The expensive 1st class is for good reasons; space and comfort. Honesty is the best policy, and you expressed with mellow and polite way. I think that is the reason why people like to watch and subscribe your channel.

Thanks for sharing. In the past, China don't have HSR. Travel in China DIY is not convenient. I have visited Kunming, Dali. Lijiang and Shangri-La more than 15 years ago, the city had developed so much that I don't recognize. That is soy sauce pork belly.
