Town of Salem | I AM DOING THIS WRONG? | Ranked Veteran

Town of Salem ranked is back today with some veteran gameplay. Vet is a fun and fairly easy role to play, but a hard one to perfect. I'm struggling in this town of salem meta to find the right vet bait without killing off all my town friends, am I doing this whole awesome vet bait thing wrong?

Don't see how clicking a button to post your will requires someone to go back and check your claim. 9 times out of 10 it's evils telling you to look back to waste your time and not pay attention to the day chat. If your town and say it your just being difficult and making other possible townies miss the day chat because you feel it's better to tell them to look back instead of just posting again.

Literally impossible in classic or ranked/ranked pract. Possible to only have prob killed mafioso, 2 rm, sk/arso and a witch maybe. That's the only way you kill all, even then GF wouldn't die. So #QuitYourBullshit

If you're up the list, save your alerts till late game :D I think it's because people don't run into those who talked D1 in higher elo ranked. The chat goes so fast! Hopefully as the chat goes, copying and pasting useful info into your will would help :) Again, love the content!

I think they shouldn't allow custom names. Or allow you to choose from a list of randomly generated names with some kind of algorythm to make names that are similar enough but never too similar that they can get mistaken for each other. One of the most annoying things about this game is that you can have almost identical names, which really confuses things. Also, you should have a highlight button. So when you ask someone for their will, you can click on their name or something and it shows everyone who you're talking about. I don't know how this would work, but I guess it'd be similar to the voting function, except it would just put a highlight on that player, so people aren't confused. It would be harder to implement this one with everyone clicking on names of course, but I think it could be done.

You know, whenever you're vet there are three ways to play. Fake will, saying you have an alert left but you actually don't, Fake will saying you don't have any alerts but you actually do, or real will. The problem with the third one is you most likely won't play conservetively and will waste all your alerts early, and not having any alerts late game. The first one is to scare off evils, but it doesn't do a very good job; sometimes they will still go for you because you are most likely the most confirmed townie in that option. The second of the three is a good option for late game plays, but the early game would be rough because you are gonna be scared thinking that you're gonna die. This is why Vet is my favorite role, because of the question you have to ask yourself early on: "Do I play conservetively or do I want to take the risk and use my alerts now?"

What i think. When you are vet, good maf will go for important class. On Day 2 BG was outed. So they had to pick between 2 target. 1 talkative guy with unknown job who don't bring anything to conversation except being pushy (Maybe a jester). Or go for confirm BG. (But you might had been a target if your read was on point and 9 was GF.)

I played a game where jailor and retri DCed and we literally only lynched town, worst town game but flawless for mafia. Another stupid game was when I was maf, 2 mafs DCed and we still won.

I played a game of classic and I got vet, I vet baited n1 by saying "maf and sk won't visit me, no balls" ended up killing mafioso and had the sk leave n1. N2, I learned to always alert n2 and killed the godfather with the framer leaving. The game ended in two nights with me killing two mafia and the rest leaving

Hi Thanks for the video! I am relatively new to the game, won a game with all 4 mafia alive because town had 3 spys. No invest or vigi roles.. It was so easy as they kept turning on each other claiming all the spys are mafia but were actually townies.. Is this a bug or intended scenario?

had a game as witch today where I controlled LO of of jailor when maf attacked, then got the LO mislynched. The following day I got the doc mislynched. Maf repays me by killing me when medium is left and 3 maf under the claim that I was dangerous and could go for a witch only win.

i find vet has evolved into the quiet player, you just dont alert and mid game you start contributing, and than mid-late game carrys, i feel burning early alerts is bad in ranked as it can get alot of townies early and cause you to go down,but thats just how i play vet

one of my favourite vet games I played was when I saw someone name themself "im vet" and I had a vet scroll active, so I named myself "Im not vet" thinking "hey wouldn't it be funny" sure enough I got vet, so d1 I said "hey maf feel free to visit me tonight since I'm not vet." maf wasn't dumb enough to fall for that, but arso was. d2 someone said "if Im not vet tries claiming vet we should lynch him" and I just say "guess who's actually vet" and he backpedals hard. the rest of the game was pretty boring, although I did end up killing the mafioso later in the game, as well as disproving a fake sheriff's will.

Pipetron convinced me of that, the odds are against the alert helping in any way. Just save til you feel like you are targetable or until the end. Edit: in terms of baiting I really like messaging someone I think is town "Hey, I'm bg I'll be on you bb" if I think there is a bm in game. Lots of fun plays to make with fake tp/lo/ts claiming as vet if you do it right.

Always alert N1. It's a tip. It'll really help as you are not jailor and evils will probably visit you. I'm always dying on N1, so I feel like I will be attacked. That's why I always alert N1, so I can kill evils that may come to my house.

@@helppls1827 Thats a bad idea, because then you will have one less alert later on, and, it's a lot less likely for you to be visited anyways. Never bait D1 either, as that never works either. Either you do it too well, claiming ret and you kill all the TP cause jailor watches skimm, or you do it too bad, making no evils visit you and you wasted an alert.

My tactic is to just say something d1 but not a bait. Don't alert n1. N2 I participate in debates a lot and push people who are sus without claiming. Evils will probably suspect I am an important town and will try to attack me. I alert n2.

Skimm i feel you're getting rusty bud. 1) WW's have Powerful Attacks and BG self vest only gives Basic Defense. 2) The amount of claims you miss in chat is kind of funny but can be stressful when I notice it. 3) Don't vet bait so often as Vet. Its become too obvious that I RARELY see Vets getting kills N1 unless its from a suicidal evil. My favorite n1 vet bait is "Vigi here, witch call my bluff."

Yeah, if you're town don't ever be like Periwinkle. If someone is asking you for a claim but you already had claimed then just claim again. It takes not even half a second to type out your claim again, or to post your will. Throwing a bitch fit about how you've already claimed doesn't help. Making fellow townies scroll through chat log to find your claim is wasting their time and also takes their attention away from the current chat, possibly making them miss more important info. It is not uncommon for townies to miss things that were said earlier in the game, especially when town has a heavy chat flow.
