Pretty sure those "April Fools" smashes were probably spare violins. Schools do have cheap instruments for students to use, and they're not always the most well taken care of. I'm sure there's a storeroom somewhere behind every band room that has essentially unusable instruments. In my mind, the third guy walked back in with a brand new violin his parents bought him, he was obviously the soloist, so maybe they shelled out for one of his own. Obviously, he cleared it with the teacher to smash one of the crappier school violins. Or he's a frustrated teenager that just rage quit Orchestra.

There should be some limits about movements it's true. But moving makes audience feel you are very involved in music you play and make them feel the same way about the music, so some moves and smile make really good image for sure. The other thing is that if you are street musician you should always aware of space you are using and what's going on around you (I know it from my own experience. There are also stories about streets musicians that were stolen money because they wheren't paying attention wat is going on arround them). That's the thing the man in video certainly didn't care about. Another good thing about the right stature is that it helps to play better, more in tune and not having any pain afterwards. But when you come the certain level you surely can find the ballance between moving and stature to achive both great sound and looking good. I can tell it as street musician who played 9 years in music school and for now on havve 7 years of street playing experience.

Kay, I live in London where there are tons of buskers n street performers like that, and WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU GO BEHIND SOMEONE LIKE THAT?! WHY?! NOBODY DOES THAT. First of all, it’s encroaching on his performance space which is super rude, AND you might mess something up, like Idk get in the way of his performance and get frickin’ whacked across the face and break his violin!! My flinchworthy story. When I was in junior high school, one of my classmates wanted to make a violin. He was a cellist and really into woodworking. His dad had a fully equipped shop at home, but he did a lot of work at school, since we actually had a pretty cool shop teacher. He was meticulous in carving out a beautifully shaped top, measuring it carefully with calipers to make sure it was the right thickness all the way through. Fantastic work. He had started working on the scroll, when one day in shop I saw him standing there with a sad look on his face. "What happened?" I asked. "(Person not to be named) sat on it. He sat on my violin," he said. "And he just said, I sat on your violin!' Sure enough, there it was, with was a crack in the top, at the f-holes, from being crushed. So sad. We had high stools in the shop, surrounding the work tables, but the guy for some reason decided to plop himself down on a table rather than sit on a stool, and didn't look where he was sitting. So stupid, since we often left tools like chisels, files and saws on those tables, not to mention our projects. I think he eventually finished it, at home, but I never saw the finished instrument, so I don't know if it was playable. That crack probably would have caused all kinds of chatter.

Part of what you're taught in shop classes (heck, most of what you're taught) is safety. The kid who sat on the bench honestly probably should have been told that he lost his shop privileges and that he would have to stay in the classroom for the remainder of the semester, rather than be trusted with any of the dangerous equipment in the shop (and if it meant he failed the class, then he failed and it was his own fault - our shop classes had similar policies that were drilled into us to ensure we took the safety parts seriously)

Fr tho, she deserved it. Theres plenty of space on the sidewalk instead she decided to squeeze through that tiny space behind the performer, she probably knew it wasn't going to work but still decided to do it. It's common sense, I don't care if anyone accuses him of doing stunts while performing, that's not the issue. Even if a performer were to do stunts, you wouldn't blindly walk into that, would you? Literally, PLENTY OF SPACE ON THE SIDEWALK AND THAT MF DECIDES TO WALK BEHIND AND GET HIT. Look at her glare at the old man, I'm geniuely irritated by this ignorant woman.

@створец сгущёнковоза I don't know if you are familiar with street performers but people give them their space to do what they do. You can clearly see that in the video, the people are not walking in the sidewalk because it's common sense not to get close. That lady was in a hurry for whatever reason and thought she could just ran behind him to not be slowed down by the people walking. First of all, everybody knows it's dangerous to run in a place that has a lot of people walking (seems like a shopping district). Second, he performs there because he knows there are lots of people so he can get more spectators and money, at his age it could be the only way he get incomes. So, who's really to blame? I would say the girl, but i really don't blame anyone because both suffered consequences. Also he was very polite despite everything so I don't see why you get so mad.
@jessicaalfaro145
@jessicaalfaro145 4 жыл бұрын
@створец сгущёнковоза There can't be consequences if people don't get too close to him as it should be. You can't blame the electricity if someone get's electrocuted by touching a wire barehanded can you? It's just dumb. If people don't know how to stay safe sooner or later they'll get hurt. And it has way more sense that people learn how to behave in a public space (not running and look at your suroundings) than saying to an old man "Hey stop doing what you do to get money, it could hurt dumb people". Also, it's not a "tiny" sidewalk. You can see there is no height diference between the sidewalk and the street so we can asume is a street only for pedestrians (You can see that in the full video if you search). So.. how wide is an entire street? 12 meters? Why would that lady just cross behind him having such a wide space? It was her who risked herself to get hurt. The man did nothing.

I’m about to cry at the first one, because old people doing things to earn a bit of something (anything: money, respect, love) always make me really really sad like, I just want to give them a big hug and let them know that they are very loved and not alone and then give them the money/necessities they need (not that I have them). And the fact that it’s a violin, a whole instrument, which costs a lot of money, makes it even worse. He was dancing around and jumping (way more agile than the average elderly, and goodness think about how it might be hurting him) and putting all this genuine effort in to get some extra dosh, only to lose his violin completely 😭 what if he can’t afford a new one?? What if that was one of his possessions for years, something he’s been passionate about for a great portion of his life, only for it to be stripped away from him by a reckless woman… gosh I’m about to cry. Please, please I’m praying that things turned out well for him. I’m sorry for the misfortune in the world. AND AFTER THAT HE WENT STRAIGHT TO CHECK IF THE WOMAN WAS OK IM CRYING NOW 😭

Pfft. ok. She probably wouldn't have wanted to walk in _front_ of him, probably because she didn't want to block the view of spectators. Besides, walking in front of him might have just been a bit of a rude gesture. And you can see that she was in a hurry, so she probably couldn't have had the time to acknowledge him. And come on, she isn't "ruining someone's source of income" on purpose. I don't think anybody's to blame here, really

let’s be real, everyone commenting calling the old street performer a “maniac” and an “idiot” has no respect or understanding for people who have to supplement or eke out a living busking for tips. that man was nothing but kind to that woman who he knew he had injured; he didn’t rage at her and he didn’t blame her, and yet some (a lot) of y’all are acting like he’s some malicious assailant. maybe go spend 40 hours a day practicing some empathy.

I have busked before. In my experience, if you’re going to be spinning around, you need to make sure you’re in a place where no one can go behind you- a corner or closer to the wall- because if you’re doing sudden movements like that that the average person wouldn’t expect, it’s you who has to be responsible for making sure that the environment is safer for everyone. I don’t think that he’s malicious in intent or should necessarily be in trouble for it, but everyone who’s insulting the girl or saying that she should pay for the violin are, in my opinion, in the wrong as well.

Maybe she was in a hurry, maybe she was worried about something, probably wasn't thinking straight and who in hell would predict the guy playing violin in the street would do a twisted backflip right at the moment you are behind him? I have a crazy one for you guys… in 8th grade, we were passing out new music and I had some extras, so I leaned my bow up against my chair, stood up and put the extras on my teacher’s stand (I was in the front row so I just stood up and reached over) and I sat back down and just heard a crunch. I stood up and saw the tip of my bow lying limply on my chair, and I was like “…um… Mr Brown?” And he was like “oh… well these things happen, you can borrow a bow for this class” and I did. But the bright side was, I needed a full size violin anyway so we went to the music store to get one that weekend 😊

im looking back at this 3 years later and i still find the first clip so distressing, i could tell playing violin for people was his passion, his way of getting around things on his own... and as soon as that violin shattered because of some careless girl, it also shattered my heart, now im not judging this girl and i really do hope that she was alright, but it's the fact she just had no common sense on how to approach things..i hope this man took this as an opportunity to get stronger and be a better person he is now, either with his heart, violin playing or just simply his personality....may The lord and Jesus Christ with his helpful angels watch over them if they are still here with us today....God Bless You All

The one with the teacher smashing the violin has been endlessly shown on Fail Army and Ridiculousness WITHOUT the ending that shows it's an April Fool's joke. I must have seen it a hundred times, and this is the first time I've seen the reveal at the end. I just assumed he was an unhinged teacher who obviously got fired for this.

@@eleanorkoenig9348 That was funny. I was just so confused by that video clip because I'd originally watched in on mute as to not disturb my housemates. I got the impression that the teacher was a closet Nazi that couldn't control his emotions, as most people surely do, but was utterly confused by the high‑five that had come later.
