A little trick I use, to pick up small gold, is a q-tip. Just wet it and touch the gold, picks it right up. Then I put in my bottle, full of water, and it drops right off. I’ve collected a lot of fine gold using this method. I thought it up out of necessity. Thanks for this video.

We just hiked 2,000 vertical into the middle fork of the feather and found lots of cracks packed super hard. We got nice chunky gold but the hike is rough. Flyfishing is amazing too.

Howdy Gary Thank you for all the great content!! That was an especially fancy nail. A good friend of mine, who has done carpentry work,all of his life, was nailing some things off up high, when he ran a 20 penny Common through his jeans and into and through his ankle bone.😢 They tried pulling it out with a Wonderbar, but were unsuccessful. A doctor was able to remove it. My point is , that nail was just a hair smaller than the one you found. Make you pucker, huh!

Another great show with you and your friend Jeff. I hope you found your shovel and you inspired me to lose a pair of work gloves today. A big storm is coming later today so I cleaned some gunk out of my gutters. I have no clue where they are. Lol I was wondering if the next time you mine in a hydraulic pit if you could explain and show pictures of how it came to be there. I don't know much about it but I figured it would be next to a huge hill or mountain where they washed it to the bottom. Have a great day and thanks for the show.

How was it damaged? Is there radioactive waste everywhere? Oh NO! they moved a bunch of dirt off the side of the mountain and piled up a bunch of boulders in one spot! How will ANYTHING ever live there again!? I don't understand in what sense they "Damaged" anything. (other than mercury in the rivers , but you did not mention that)

@@GOLD_FEVER you suffer from shifting baseline. You don't know what it used to be but you are certain that it's fine as it is today? The LA River is perfect too, because all they did was cement the whole thing. The Hocking River in Ohio has a pH level of about 5, acidic enough to kill trees on its banks, because of coal mining. But it's fine because all they did was create huge tunnels everywhere and the toxic sludge ends up in the river. I agree with you. Everything is fine. That river is plum full of salmon and the grizzly bears are growing fat as the herds of elk drink.... Except there's no river bed to spawn in and elk can't walk over boulders but it's fine. The environment is peachy. You have enlightened me and I thank you.

I go out to this river every week and i see pristine spots that look like they've been untouched for at least hundereds of years and i don't see fish dying everywhere or deer having problems with accessing water. You bring attention to problems with waterways in other states, sure - i am not arguing that toxic sludge should be put in rivers from mines! But our conversation is about CALIFORNIAN rivers. Are your deer and elk so painfully weak and dumb that you REALLY THINK that they can't find their way to the water? And are you that addicted to getting mauled that you would like to bring back bears that are among the few creatures out there that casually hunt humans???? I think manufactured outrage is something only the well to do have the luxury of enjoying.
