Careful cycling in sg. Singaporean drivers and motorcyclists look at cyclists as pests. If you get into an accident, most of them won't stop to help you because cyclists don't pay road tax even though the government made it clear that road tax is only applicable to vehicle owners. Singaporeans are not that friendly as they'd like you to believe.

Another gem of a video. I noticed that there appears to be very few dogs in Singapore. I love domesticated dogs. But in some countries, many people own dogs, frequently two or three of them, and bike paths and parks are filled with the four legged creatures running off leash mostly (sometimes on a leash), which makes cycling a bit problematic as you have to watch for people, cars, and dogs (occasionally unfriendly and aggressive ones). It's nice that Singapore seems to be pretty organized with cycling infrastructure and, well, no dogs running all over the place.
@TwoWheelCruise2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, we only saw a few dogs while we were there. I don't think they are very common because most people live in apartments, so maybe there are more cat owners like Japan.

@NEAAFFAIRS2 жыл бұрын
The average home is around 1000 sq ft so not great if you have many bikes. Despite its low crime rate, parking expensive bikes outside your home is still a no go. So foldies make sense and they allow it on the subway

The train/ride combo brought me to many places to ride when I do not have time to do a long ride. 30mins train ride takes me almost every part of Singapore and ride for an hour or 2 for a change in scenery. Another hack is many modern office buildings restroom have shower facilities too. Good for freshening up before a meal or train ride home.

It looks like it from this video! Riding on the streets in my city, where there are hardly any bike lanes at all, people aren’t mindful about “sharing the road” with cyclists. Also people are texting or looking at phone, infotainment screens, talking on the phone, etc… it’s so dangerous to ride on the streets.

I have ridden in Vietnam as well (know how you feel) and now I'm dealing with the 300 year old cobblestones in Mexico-no better than Paris-Roubaix! Always a good day when TWC uploads! I was wondering if you would make a video about getting fit, exercises, diet, how to begin being a cyclist. My wife and I are both in need of dropping probably 30lbs, and we have no endurance, we can ride maybe 10km before being exhausted. It would be cool and helpful to see a big video on all your advice on how to get healthy!
@TwoWheelCruise2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! We don't have any videos specifically about that yet, but I do talk about some similar stuff in my older bike commuting tips videos. The simplest advice is to try exercising at least a little bit every day and gradually increase the distance or intensity as you get more comfortable.

This is the most pleasant undisturbed cycling route in Singapore with almost no car crossings - you can bike through the whole thing without stopping much. I love it. Also the bike path of east coast park to the jurrassic mile are the best bike paths in the whole country, the rest are quite terreeible lol. I saw that NParks and lta plans for new paths in the west of the country, i hope they are equally as great as east coast park. Nice video 🎉

well for me country like Singapore no need any car. imagine going less than 200 kilo already circle around the city. compare to average weak cycler like me who ride mostly 80 to 100kilo a day, suppose all people can just do like Dutch people do ride bicycle for daily routine. i never going fast in bike but for distance 50 kilo it only toke 1.5 hour in average. if i ride my Honda it about 40 minute with all traffic jam and other disturbance. but use motorcycle you need gas. for bike it only need potato and egg. this why i chose being cycler. it cheap and make body healthy
