I appreciate the detailed walkthrough. I knew nothing about adjusting a clutch except that I needed to do mine based on the symptoms. This made it about a 10 minute process! I did it the first time, no spare parts, and it worked great! Thanks so much.

i've raced dirt bikes professionally, so clutch lever replacement, adjustment etc. was easy... but on a street bike, especially a cruiser, it's a lot different in your adjustment as you have multiple points, unlike a dirt bike. I recently had to replace my clutch lever because my kickstand wasn't all the way down and I stupidly dropped my boulevard, breaking the clutch lever. After replacing my clutch lever, if i didn't pull it a certain way, it would stick all the way back... this video helped me identify the problem and make the proper adjustment in short order. Thanks for a good quality video... it's much appreciated man. Hope all is well and you're riding safe.

I dropped my bike on gravel at the weekend and snapped my clutch lever..I though there was no other damage but 200 yards down the road, I had nothing but revs in 1st and 2nd gears. No bite. I adjusted the cable and everything was fine until I needed to go uphill and wanted extra torque. Back to square one. No power to the drive but revs. No burning smell from the plates. Everything went tight, now gap at the lever end and the screw and locking nut were solid

Great video, clear and fool proof. I have a 2008 suzuki C50, and seems like theres an oil leak at the transmission bar in the engine side. (the part thet connect engine and rear tire). Is there a seal that might be damaged? Im kind of a handy man so Im familiar with mechanic jobs, so the real question is, how difficult would be to replace this seal? Is there a video showing how to do this job? Thanks and keep the good work!

I have a 95 VS800 Intruder that I bought about 2 1/2 years ago. It had sat in a garage for years and had only 1860 miles on it. I now have nearly 14,000 miles on it and I’m starting to notice the clutch slipping a bit if I get on it hard. It’s a hydraulic clutch and was wondering what is the most likely culprit. Did I understand that a hydraulic system does not require adjustment?

Great video definitely needed to learn this!! Quick question in 4th and 5th gear only just recently seems like I'm losing power.... I can get up to speed slowly but if I tried to accelerate to pass a vehicle that's where bike seems to lose power.... any suggestions what it could be?? Local shops are crazy expensive and I hoping it's something I could fix myself. Thanks in advance
@schimmeljager8113 жыл бұрын
I am having the same issue. I wonder if it can be fixed, at least for some time, with clutch adjustment or actually the clutch needs to be replaced. Adjusting the cable obviously would not help, but perhaps turning the bolt (what he does on this video with a screwdriver) might. I honestly do not understand what this bolt does.
@noddyvision772 жыл бұрын
@@schimmeljager811 The only answer I have for you is that with a v twin you need to use the gears more than say a 4 cylinder bike. I'm no mechanic so that's all I've got 👍BTW, Great video. 1990 VX800 Owner. Planning to tackle Scotland in June.

@@noddyvision77 I replaced the clutch since my previous comment from 10 month ago :) Following this guy's video. Btw the biggest challenge was to remove exhaust bolts from the cylinder head. It did not happen here but on my bike they broke. I tried heating, all kind of vice-grips, Kroil, welding a nut... Nothing worked. I ended up drilling them out.

On the instrument panel there are 2 buttons, one works trip meter and odometer, other one makes a number of little squares come up, what does those squares mean? Thanks

Does the bike have to be in neutral? Also...book says... Turn in the adjuster 7 until it stops. Turn back the adjuster 7 1/4 turns. Do I go with resistance as you state, or turn until actual stop as book says? I'm confused...I tried resistance and no change in clutch...almost all the way out before it engages....does not slip while riding, but not use to let that much clutch lever out...kinda tricky at steep hills.
