I went through the loud is better stage years ago with my 82 GS1100 E with Vance and Hines header and stage 3 jet kit. Very finicky jetting as the weather changed. Anyway I got older and decided to just keep my fjr stock sounding. Only person that needs impressing is me. Besides, aftermarket mufflers cost an arm and a leg for no noticeable gain.

Love the sound of some loud pipes but none are worth the money over stock. When you're keeping that stout 1300cc engine pinned and still need more, get a full system. Most never use what they already have because the bike really pulls hard from about 100-130mph. The FJR1300 is sport tourer and loud pipes can get old on a deserted highway in the middle of nowhere. I prefer whizzing by like the wind vs causing every sleepy cop to look my way.

Thanks for sharing sir. How did the FJR run with the Yoshi pipes, both with and without baffles? Being injected, I just wonder if the computer was able to compensate for the mixture change you would expect "un-corking" the exhaust a little. It sure sounds great with the Yoshis.

@@TwoWheelObsession old comment, but not really true as the uncorked mufflers will help the engine breath a little better. I actually lost just a bit of topend power on my old cbr F2 by switching to a loud slip on without re jetting the carbs.. It honestly felt like it was down about 8-10hp up top, But it was carbed and perhaps the injected ECU of an FJR can compensate some.

@freedomisntfree1312 жыл бұрын
I'm not trying to argue for the sake of arguing. But, my stock FJR doesn't need more jump and feel. Those bikes are incredible. So much response, acceleration and power. If you've never ridden one, I highly suggest it. 140 hp is incredible on that bike. It won't corner like your GSXR. But, I'll put it against any sportbike in acceleration. The 1/4 of a second that a 1000 cc sportbike could beat it is arguable depending on the individual rider.

In Germany you risk a punishment to extract the baffles, but thats not the worst. I skipped through the part showing how to change the baffles, and went straight to the end to fulfill the promise of the title of this video. This needs to be two videos, one doing the sound comparison, and one doing the baffle how-to. Us KZbin addicts have a notoriously short attention span, and we want to find what we are looking for by watching a 3 minute video. Sad but true. I don't mean to sound like a dick. But, I have to ask... what is the point of putting new exhaust on a sport bike? I get the loud rumble desire if you have a big V-Twin. But on a sport bike? It kind of reminds me of the exhaust people put on Civics and want to be cool like the guy down the street who has a Camaro SS. I don't get it.
@AkumuX8 жыл бұрын
Any or all of these... Deeper sound, raspier sound, not having to hear the transmission (FJR has a good bit of whirring, as do some other bikes), shaving weight, better looks, better location, better construction and in my opinion not so much for inline 3/inline 4, but for V-twin sport bikes and V-four sport bikes it really 'wakes it up' in a MUCH more different way than putting a Folger's coffee can on a Civic.
@JFizoust7 жыл бұрын
Don't think of it as aftermarket on exhaust on a civic, but rather performance exhaust on a performance machine like a Porsche. Putting aftermarket on a VTwin is strictly for show as they aren't performance machines. But Yoshi can increase HP, which translates to better track time for some.
