I've been over Lolo Pass several times and I love it! One time I got a late start heading east to Missoula from my home and was really pushing the speed through the twisties. It was nearing dusk, I was getting tired and decided it was time to slow down. Came up behind some old coot driving a old beat up pick- up truck and decided it was time to slow down and just stay behind him being about 30 miles from Missoula. A few turns later an elk was standing in the middle of the road! He almost hit it and had I not decided to slow down I may have had an ugly encounter! Be safe. Really enjoyed this video.

I’ve ridden Lolo three times this year. Awesome ride going up and over westbound from Lolo to Kooskia. Lochsa Lodge was always open for me. The blueberry pancakes will make your day... then the ride, with the sun on your back, along the river is truly beautiful. Ninety-nine miles of twisties. You need to head back and run the whole way down. Awesome.

I bought my first motorcycle in 1972. Since then (until 2015) I've driven more miles on two wheels than on four. My late wife was a 'biker babe' from the start of our relationship in 1980. I always wanted to. do what you're doing -- just ride, smell the donuts and admire the scenery. Shelter under overpasses and press on between showers. And if that doesn't work, speed up (safely) and go! Whatever you don't like about 'now' will change when there're more. miles behind you!

I've ridden quite a few of the "famous" motorcycle roads in the country-Lolo is my favorite. Some have more spectacular views, but are a mob of traffic (Going to the Sun). Some are fun, but over in 15 minutes (ToD). Some...carved into the side of a mountain with huge drops, which makes it hard for me to enjoy the ride (Beartooth). Lolo is just sweet, with 150 miles of nice, flowing, sweeping twisties and very little traffic.
