So glad we can make you smile - life's too short for a frown. We've learned that things are going to happen while on the road and it's how we handle them that matters the most. It's so nice to travel with a partner because while one of us might get upset about something, the other is usually more grounded. We'll switch back and forth on that. And no - Rich wasn't an Eagle Scout in his former life. He just doesn't like to work too hard first thing in the morning before his coffee. 😍

You two are a cute couple and fun to watch! I've always travelled with deer whistles, they are suppose to start working once you hit 50Km (30 MPH). I've never fully trusted them, but I have never had a deer run in front of me in all the years I've used them. When camping at night, bears are terrified of the Brite LED strobe lights on your flash lights, Ive used this and it works. I live in bear country and we had a bear try to break into our family window.

I tried rough camping in northern Montana, up a gravel road and up the side of a mountain on switchback trails. got to a beautiful flat cleared area with a view for miles and miles in every direction. set up camp, got the stove going and as it was cooking, went and looked off the edge, about 5 feet down a steep drop was piles of deer bones, looks like the locals wood butcher the animals there and throw the bones off the cliff. closer look showed lots of chewing action. needless to say I packed up and crawled down the mountain in the dying light.

Just bing watched all your videos. Like seeing all the places you’ve ridden. You should come to Minnesota and check out Areo Stitch in Duluth. They custom make motorcycle jackets and pants. Plenty of padding in shoulders, elbows and knees. Wouldn’t need to carry so many jackets as they are cool enough in summer because of the vents and we’ve never gotten wet. Warm, and a fleece shirt under the jacket for those 30 degree days in the high altitudes’ and Chris would get the long arms she wants. Also put gussets in women’s for our curvy hips so the back doesn’t ride. We’ve had ours for years and love them. Check them out online. There are some really nice roads to ride here in MN.

With reference to the Fire that you saw and going thru town. FYI, the Volunteer Fire Departments normally are dispatched by the county headquarters to the small town responsible for that area. Normally, the small fire department have sirens that go off. Some places issue beepers to volunteers. Most of the time they hear it and go, they have to be in the Fire Trucks or Ambulances within 4-5 minutes to respond (get on the radio to find out what type of an emergency it is and get going) otherwise the headquarters will contact another town's fire department. 9 times out of 10, it is not until they arrive at the fire department what the issue is and how to combat it. You saw the fire, but probably didn't see the equipment... Did you see any Fire Trucks? If I remember correctly, you all from the suburbs of a city. The city may have salaried fire fighters, and some volunteers. You are probably not use to this. In the countryside, there are NO salaried fire fighters or Ambulance EMT personnel. All are volunteers, that go to classes after their normal jobs who get certified by the county/state. Sort of like the military. If you haven't noticed already, life in the big city or suburbs, is totally different than the country. For your safety while traveling, when seeing something like this. Get to a safe place and get off the road until emergency personnel get there.
@TwoWheelsBigLife4 жыл бұрын
Yes they are all Volunteer Services out there. Those guys we’re heading to the station to get the truck. All good though. I wish I could have zoomed in on the driver. We made eye contact. I will be down to 470lb I ride a police road king and this is slightly more that half. It has a 107 motor (1758cc). I will weigh it again and pull it to seer if this will be better pulling. it originally weighed in at 620 lbs and was hard to pull and control. I took out things that I thought I could do without. I am planning a trip to Northern California and ride the coast to Santa Monica then East back home. About 10 days. Rx

I ride with my Worship Leader at Church. He rides a Goldwing. I tease him about doing my Charity Work riding with him.

You guys are addicting to watch, lol. Hinted to wife your travels and she almost shot me, lol Guess I shouldn't have shown your bikes in the snow.

@@TwoWheelsBigLife Their first video I watched was with the first travel trailer and the ford f-150 with all 3 kids touring Crater Lake, OR. They do very nice videos and are 99.98% upbeat and positive. Have been a subscriber since I discovered they were not just a one season YT'er. Have fun and be safe out there...

I think wildlife is the greatest danger to motorcyclists. Dead centered an antelope doing 75 mph in Wyoming in ‘97 riding my new Honda Valkyrie. Busted radiator, headlight, but a still usable National Cycle windshield. I remember bouncing and rolling for such a long time that I had time to think “this is not much fun.” I had relatively minor injuries to my hands (no gloves), but feel that God protected me. Still riding my Valk.

Three years ago while camping outside Pagosa Springs, I was assured by the camp host that they hadn't had a bear all season. Thinking it was safe, I left some food in the trunk of my bike. Around two AM I awoken by a barking dog, then another closer, and other even closer. Then, Boom. I rushed out of my tent with the intent of scaring the unwanted visitor away. Luckily, the noise the bike made while falling frightened it away. The bad news was that my rear trunk split open. All part of the adventure unless you bring food into the tent.

We did our best to not bring food into the tent, but I’m sure there are smells. Sorry about the bike falling over.
