Holy sh*t this is exactly what I needed to see. Absolutely LOVE how he plays the game! I'm going to be a bit more experimental at the range now. Trying to have a cookie cutter swing isn't working for me, I have a desire to be creative with games I play. When I was big into billiards, I focused on trick shots such as jumps and masse'. Now it's game on. Thank you for the inspiration Mac!

The discussions surrounding the differences between a pitching wedge from a set of irons, versus a pitching wedge from a "wedge line" would be a fun video. You could take a bladed iron set PW against a 46* wedge and show what differences there might be with regards to flight, shaping, feel etc.

Never heard of Mac before but that was an awesome half hour of ‘different’ and really fun and interesting content. Can’t wait for the lefty bomber match up. Lots of dogleg par 4s please 😲 “How far do you hit 8 iron?” “Yes” Imagine being a fitter that had never met Mac trying to do a gapping session🤣
@tysonvamvas1043 жыл бұрын
So cool to watch! I'm not nearly at Macs skill level but as someone who slings iron shots all day this is so relatable and helpful. I also thought I was crazy and the only person who needed to tweak my grip shot to shot, only way I can hit a mini fade (basically straight) is to weaken the hell out of my grip.

This was fun to watch. Makes me want to get back the big draw my coach had me hitting. It was consistently 15-17 yards left after starting 6* right I didn’t know how to aim it on course though. Pissed my coach off when I got away from it.

Can you do a video on the pros/cons of using a lefty sleeve for a right and vice versa? What’s the difference in turning a righty sleeve higher for a lefty rather than a lefty sleeve lower?
@ryanbarath19163 жыл бұрын
As far as the TaylorMade sleeves are concerned, there is no difference from a build perspective - simply a graphic change to the sleeve for the purpose of orientation.
@av13163 жыл бұрын
@@ryanbarath1916 couldn’t you just align the shaft and sleeve so the graphics line up? It doesn’t have anything to do with upright/loft?

I'm left handed and hit a draw just like that and I've tried my best to hit straight, however I lose distant for control. I like this thought process and will incorporate it in my game, thx so much
@canuck33753 жыл бұрын
Really interesting, and really appreciate the thinking in the bag approach. As a fellow lefty, I also struggled to conform to the standard swing doctrines and the straight shot. Similar to Mac, who I didn’t know before but seems awesome, I score better when I use differently shaped shots, ones that feel more natural. Like most lefties, I can overcook the draw ( I have the same miss as Mac), but the cut is a good out swing. Don’t hit it nearly as far as Mac though!! Great content boys, keep it up! Best golf channel on the tube!

Did you say Mac coaches as well?? Because I feel as though his style reflects not just what I would like to see but what I feel most comfortable doing
@johngibson26393 жыл бұрын
I’ve not seem Mac before but I’ll be heading over to Insta for more 😎 Almost all amateur golfers aspire to deliver the clubhead in exactly the same way time after time in the way almost every top golfer does - it takes practice and dedication but most of us can kid ourselves we can improve if we try hard enough. But to intentionally deliver the clubhead in wildly different ways at will, as Mac does, in order to vary the flight by so much is a gift which can’t be learned, no matter how much we practice. Mac’s skill set is special and should be cherished.
@craigpelletier69313 жыл бұрын
Now this is why I became a fanatic with the game years ago. Spent a LOT of time on the Range working diff shots. Diff irons landing same distance with diff flight pattern. After a time you begin to feel where the club head and face is at all times. Now that Im getting back into the game I hope to one day get that feeling back. 1st things 1st- stop standing up during down swing. People look funny at me when they see my tail rest against a chair during my swing, just too funny.

Ive always been capable of playing golf a similar way. But I am very grounded in hitting the traditional shots. Hard to commit to playing tournament golf being "free with creativity" and hitting bigger draws and faydes. I also use DECADE so it is less encouraged anyways. Happens often with French surnames in North American that I’ve noticed, especially the US. They just anglicize the names, whether that was from the people who originally immigrated, or over time from people just wanting to pronounce it the “English way” Surprised Mac’s family pronounces Boucher like that though, given the prevalence of French in Canada
