My daughter is a North Crowley HS Graduate 08’! I went to plenty of football games for four years. The school won a State Championship within the first few years of its opening. Then the football program went downhill, but not because of the talent. They always have super talented kids, but booster politics killed the program and yearly many highly talented kids didn’t even play who were decisively better than those who did. THEN CAME COACH GATES!!! Coaching with a purpose! Challenging and mentoring young men more than coaching football, working to get on the same page as the parents regarding their son’s academics and their futures AND playing the best players and not playing favoritism. I’m very proud of the team and even more proud of the coach and the job he’s doing!!!

Congrats to NC! I remember several years ago they were trash now they're champs. My kids went to Arlington Martin 2012-2019 and they would put up 60-70 points on NC every game. My how things have changed! Great job. They were the best team in Texas all year, maybe the whole country.

Tbh those south Texas teams in 6A like Westlake had an easy route to state. North Shore was super overrated this year! North Crowley problably had the hardest path to state. Coppell, Allen, and duncaville would've beat a lot of these south Texas teams including this Westlake team! North Crowley was just to battle tested!

Westlake believe it or not has a decent defensive line and defense. They dominated Northshore in the trenches. North Crowley as fast as they are have a 5 star and 4 star on the offensive line and are pretty solid up front. They neutralized that Westlake front. Northshore was also very small in the trenches.
