Let’s Dance and China Girl are my favorite 80s Bowie songs.

I totally get the hardcore fans not digging this, but for we 80s kids, this was our introduction to Bowie! We went backwards from there. We did eventually get there! Ty’s pronunciation of Bowie had me laughing pretty hard! 🤣🤣🤣

I was introduced to Bowie in the 80's as well, so of course love "Let's Dance" & "Blue Jean" 😎 Pretty cool stuff to me. Yes ... Tyler is a Texas so the Alamo history class stuff must have fried his brain, ha 😳

Well Said 😎 Can't wait to explore more Bowie and maybe next time Ty will get the name right, ha. He was stuck back in history class learning about the Alamo or something 😎

The weird thing about David Bowie in the 80's was that he wasn't weird. Should have started with Ashes to Ashes or something cool like Sound and Vision.

I'll go 70's weird next, ha & see how Ty responds 😎 who know's maybe he'll like that era better.

I personally liked this even better than "China girl"."Let's dance" era was really a turning point for both D.Bowie and the music scene at the time.It kinda 'took off some guilt' from danceable music.Everything started being more groovy again after 1983.DURAN DURAN had said they got inspired by LD's smash success for the recording of their " Union of the snake" single at the time as well as Kim Wilde for her infamous '83 "Dancing in the dark" single.

I think Ty might enjoy Life on Mars or Moonage Daydream. Something a bit more spacey and eccentric.

We all forgot guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan playing on this track and China Girl. And I think Tony Thompson (Chic, The Power Station) played drums on this one.

As much as I love this song I’d start with a song like Starman or even Be My Wife or Sense Of Doubt from his Berlin period. Something more edgy probably.

Wow. I'm stunned it didn't hit with the youngster - but can I respect that. Maybe it was too mainstream an introduction. ? I'd be afraid to next introduce China Girl or Let's Dance, after that dud. Maybe *Fame* like you hinted at. Or maybe some of his more wild & 'Out There' stuff (which I personally don't love. but who knows.) p.s., and if you're keepin a List for another Prince song - - i'd suggest the low key classic: The Beautiful Ones

Booie forever haha!! whoops ... this ones catchy but had to be there at the time maybe, as things were transitioning into a more pop modern world. Can't say exactly what it is that's appealing about the song but it obviously hit at the time. Can 10's of millions be wrong? Yes, but this ones still good.

Yes the "let's dance" album has so many cool tunes and a total 80's vibe, to me it's really good, but can see how not as appealing to those peeps who adore his 70's artistry 😎😎

I don't like the 80's "Let's Dance" version of Bowie personally, but that is a preference. Everything he's done before or after I LOVE, though! The 80's Bowie was too clean and held back for my taste.

Rock and Roll Suicide is a good song to start with or It's no Game part 1 or 2. If you do Fame don't use the live video his voice is shot. You didn't mess up! It's impossible to know where to start with Bowie because every era was a different sound and a different look for 50 years.

I'm almost from the 80s and totally respect David Bowie, but have to admit, this song wasn't hitting me either, 'til today. At least not like, for example, 'Blue Jean'.
