Easily the most underrated artist of the last 20 years. Just songwriting brilliance and a guitar virtuoso, nevermind his production and all around instrumental brilliance. If Prince was a west coast punk

moronic remarks, most overstated comment about musicians. the dude has a career in music from the beginning, he has bought HOMES in 20s & lives in a million dollar house in Topanga. Purchased at 32. his music doesn’t do a thing for me, fuzz is boring. it’s cool he gets to do what he wants. the music blows

Its fair enough that some people do not like his more recent work - but after listening for so many years I trust him to take me SOMEWHERE. Sometimes I get the message - sometimes I miss it. Either way hes out there doing it - and I will remain forever thankful that he takes chances and wish him and his family the best of health and peace. Rock on.

I'm very happy they're interviewing musicians like Ty Segall, or even way back when they interviewed Mac DeMarco, keep up the musician interviews! However, I will say, the "visual style" of interview feels too serious for this type of topic, it feels too formal or something....just my two cents.

This allows the interviewer to hide all their fuckups and paint whatever narrative they want by putting some of the answers in their preferred order. Basic AP jackassery.

I respect your opinion. But you gotta try to put yourself in the artists shoes. Ty’s put out so much music by the time he was 30. More music than some bands even write alone. He’s done the loud garage, done the rock n roll, done the more hippie sounding stuff. So after proving yourself and submerging with all these styles , I think one would start to create other kinds of music.

would agree if not for first taste. that album kills so hard it makes me forgive the freedom band stuff
