Saw the 4/20 show in Birmingham. Cats tore it up. Great show - a wild mix of garage rock anthems with a fat dose of trippy jams and even some nutty free jazz noodling. This guy has progressed exponentially over the last few years.

Saw them at Desert Daze on this tour. I had such a small knowledge of Ty’s music at this point, but seeing them play with this much energy and swagger made me a fan. Not sure that the analogy would make sense to anyone else, but for me, it was the equivalent of seeing The Who at Isle of Wight or something. Just a monumental performance that I knew I’d be talking about years after (or making comments on KZbin, as it were).
