Garage Kits came about in the late 80's early 90's. Independent sculptors would make figure kits of popular & cult movies that no other company were producing. These were typically 1/6 figures & were cast out of resin materials. Due to the toxic nature of mixing resin, most castings were done in garages. Whole other scene back then. 😜

Good to see that MPG Ginrai looks to be masterpiece scaled (at least when combined), as that was one of the biggest concerns with Takara changing from MP proper to MPG. I still hope that they continue to do regular MP figures in the future tho, because they still have a lot missing in their collection.

All about the Sideswipe. I like how it folds in on itself without much paneling. The Transformation looks very simple. Elegant is the word that comes to mind. I want that and the stylized Jazz car bot. Come to think of it, I’m a big Autobot car bot junkie

I just looked up the price of that 4’ Metroplex - $1,100 USD (1,800 AUD)! Ouch. I agree with you Mike, if I’m gonna invest in a 4 foot Metroplex, I want it to be more G1-like. Speaking of such, has there been any further news from LikeToys (I think it’s them) version ?

Fanstoys should have done a Rodimus Prime. Why? Because they have done ALL the '86 movie bots EXCEPT for Rodimus. Not counting characters like the Sharkticons and the Junkions of course. For them to circle back and do a Galvatron 2.0 makes no sense. The first one is fine and I dont plan on replacing him. Just my 2.0 cents..

The Metroplex looks impressive, but too manga-esque for me. I don't mind stylized Transformers at all, but I prefer either a hyper-tech look, or sometimes a streamlined iphone type look. Too bad, as I generally like Metro more than Fort Max, but if Fanstoys ever actually gets around to making their FM, I think his aesthetic will just work better for me (and there's really no way in heck I will be picking up multiple $1200+ city bots).
