What a great tutorial! Thank you Jesse! The only issue I have is that I'm trying to render in Arnold and my entire reveal is rendering with only the Material ID#2. In the viewports I can see ID #1 and ID#2 but when I render, the entire model is only using ID#2. This is in Max 2021. Thanks again for sharing all your work!

I'm having issue with this simulation because the result Is not well defined form and looks anything than a map of the world. Maybe Is a resolution issue? I must increase the Number of the particles?

Thanks so much Andrea, happy to help. And yes - I think resolution might be the problem here because you need a lot of fine detail to fill up something as intricate as the world map.

Very nice tutorial and awesome result. My only issue is that when I lower the brick fracture length, width and height to 1cm Max freezes. It can handle length and width alright, not height.. and I have a very new meaty pc.

I use this with one character i have and the result mesh i get when the tyflow animation ends is still divided i mean i don't get the mesh all smooth like you, i see like a separation between the cubes even if the tyflow animation is all the way to the end

This is a common issue with fracturing objects. The wolf isn’t perfectly smooth either. There’s not a simple fix but you can search the tyflow forum for some more info

@@RedefineFX yeah man that's how I pulled it off, the thing is that in subobject level some ppl may not be able to animate the polygons themselves. The problem seems to be the Edit Poly mod, because in Editable poly mod it works as expected. ty for your time replying tho

I got everything working fine, is there a way each piece could appear smoothly or slowly? I retimed the whole animation and looks fine, but when slowed, I can see how every two or three frames a new block appears but from nothing, not slowly. Can something like that be done? Thank you as always.

@@RedefineFX Thanks for replying Jess. The scene units are cm, I tried this tyflow workflow with different primitives and the result is the same. Never mind, at the end I got an interesting result and combined animation wit a base object with an animated slice modifier. There are so many options that can be used… For example have the slicing face fracturlly displaced to add more variation… Thanks a lot bro for your input on vfx community, Thumbs up!

I downloaded the project scene and replaced the box with a 3D model of my own. I've changed the Birth Object to the model, but when I run the simulation all I get is a few tiny bits of geometry show up.

This tutorial is over a year old. It’s possible you’re getting different results due to newer version of tyFlow. I’ll check the project file when I have a minute

So baically I tried this tutorial, I am trying to do this the other way round to you atm. I am trying to get a physical model to disapear along with the particals rather then just the particals blowing away and still having the model left behind like blowing snow off a car, the car is still there under the snow, I want it to disolve with the snow in the wind like a sandcastle would. For whatever reason I cannot achieve this. Do you think its possible in tyflow? thanks for the feedback also

Hi Jessee, I just tried it using your system, is there anything lighter then the brick fracture, as it cannot handle my model. If I turn brick fracture off on your scene and replace the wolf with a box , when using the time slider the cube is either on or off. It doesn't gradually delete as the time goes along. 1 second its there the other its gone. hope this makes sense
