This is an amazing fly. I wasn’t sure how it’d work, tied 3 last night, for today. They tore up the first two into nothing. I used it as a dropper off a popper. I didn’t use enough super glue. By the time I quit, the last fly didn’t look like anything, but was still catching bream Great fly, thanks for the video

Thanks I will do that. This fly is a little more of a challenge compared to the feathered jigs I tie. I’m gonna fish these anyway. Too much work to toss out.

Hey Stump, I was watching the other day when you did a live stream of the caddis fly, but I don't see it now. You must have taken it down. I hope you will do a video of that pattern and leave it up. I think it and Bream Killer would make a good combo. I've never tried it, but I'd like to. Thanks for doing the Bream Killer.

Randall Runion for some reason there was a problem with the video download. I made two live feeds before giving up. I will make a video for the caddis fly and load it here. Going to try live feeds again next week.

I have a fly pattern this I came up with to use as a tag behind the Bream Killer and plan to add a video soon.

First of all I see you are a traveling man. Happen to get a glimpse o your right hand. I really like this bream jig but I don’t use a fly rod. Think it could be made using a small hook like you did but with a painted lead head? Awesome jig.

Derek Robertson I’m guessing you are a traveler also, always good to hear from a man in search. This could be tied on a jighead . Not sure how it would work with the weight sinking it fast. I would say the best way to use this fly with a regular rod/reel would be to use a small float and use the fly as intended as you would with a fly rod. Throw out using the float for the weight and them slowly work the float which works the fly. Bream will still try to knock it out of their beds. Used a spider like this years ago after running out of crickets fishing for redear/crackers.

Ronnie McKee I am. Queen City lodge. Clarksville, Tennessee. While I as stationed at Fort Campbell. Back home in Alabama now. That’s a great idea. Where can I order some of those hooks? Thank you.

Derek Robertson if you have a basspro near you they will have them in the sizes you would want. If not you can order them from most Tackle supply stores. If you buy on eBay search for fly hooks 200R. This would be the cheapest to buy say 50 hooks and the cost for shipping should be very reasonable. My daughter just moved to Fort Campbell two weeks ago, my wife is there now visiting or moving in lol. She misses her badly. Williamston #24 S.C. Is my Lodge.

I tied a couple. But my squirrel tail lays down a little. It’s still up in an angle a little but it straight up like yours. Maybe my chenille isn’t thick enough ???

Derek try running the chenille another wrap closer to the eye or put two wraps to end the chenille.

What color bodies would you recommend tying these in?
@stumphunter100
@stumphunter100 6 жыл бұрын
Jason Short it’s hard to top the natural tail and the micro black chenille body. That’s the colors being tied in this video.

Hey one more question. I have plenty of 210 Denier black thread but not one of 220. I want to make it right but what are the issues if I used 210 instead of 220
@stumphunter100
@stumphunter100 6 жыл бұрын
Derek Robertson that is my mistake. 210 is right not 220. I have been dealing with some electric breakers and that’s where the 220 came from. I do apologize for the mixup.
