How to tie a fly for fishing using a cordless drill. In this video I am using cheap materials for tying a teaser to use for catching Pompano. This is a very affordable and easy way to make your own lures without purchasing special clamps, thread spools or other devices used to tie fishing flies.

I'm sure with some moderate creative input you can create a lot of different fresh and saltwater lures using the materials and method I've introduced in this video. I can see already that an entire new world has opened up here with endless opportunities for making Pompano teasers, jigs, sinking and floating fishing flies.

Dude that rig is 1 part brilliant and 9 parts terrifying. You know you can get a starter vice plus bobbin for $15 on eBay right? Or use vice grips plus a $3 bobbin, and save yourself a trip to the hospital :/ This is a sub 30 second fly without power tools. And it’ll look better with more control and the right end in the vice :)
@RadReelingFishing
@RadReelingFishing 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting and sharing a good deal on Ebay. I suppose the drill could work as a vise with the hook turned the traditional way too and a fly tied manually. I like your idea for vice grips. Some grips clamped to a bench would be an alternative as well.

You don't need to spend $50 on fly tying equipment. I bought the Colorado 102 Supreme on the Zon (Amazon) for $15 about 3 months ago,a bobbin holder for 2.something....we'll say $3.00, 25 wooden bobbins $5.00 (for different color 40wt sewing threads,5500 yds... NO cotton or other rotting material),Whip finisher $4.50 for a total of a whopping $27.50. You'll also save about half your flashing/hair each time too because you won't have to use as much so you can begin wrapping the thread.
