Nice , looks like this can be done in a multitude of colors and will work wherever there are minnows and fish that eat them . Thanks for sharing

Peanut butter is an excellent fly pattern and you tied it very well just like I wouldn't have seen before. Congratulations!

This pattern in 1/0 tan back using an intermediate line on 10 wt caught me: 5 lb mutton snappers, a 10 lb baby tarpon (lost a much bigger one) and a 25 lb barracuda. Simply awesome.

I'm impressed, I'm going to tie a fly like this with your tips and I'm going to try it too.

Beautiful little baitfish. I can't stop myself from adding one red strand to the second last bottom head clump to simulate gills. Most likely doesn't help and might actually make it worse.
@michaeldowd20392 ай бұрын
EP does gills by starting off the tie with a short bit of red silky fibers tied in on the underside of the shank back towards the bend, trimmed short so they don't extend past the hook bend but just sit in the gap. Turns out nice
@j16121572 жыл бұрын
Mike, what is the purpose of the tie in where you wrap the shank as a V? Every other tie in up the hook is the same, but there is one in the middle as you transition to the "head" that was different.

I also noticed that in the lashings of the first smaller sections.

Great simple fly. I use it for bass here in central TX.

Very nice ! I'm thinking this would also make a great smallmouth fly. :-)

Thank you for the Great video!! Can you please give the make and model for your vise?? Thank you😊
looks to me like its a renzetti traveler. could be wrong, either way the traveler is a great quality vise. usually around $200 USD

Do you use this with a sink tip line? I never have luck with these to be honest haha
@OleFloridaFlyShop2 жыл бұрын
You can either fish a floating or sinking line! Off the beach, we typically use an intermediate just to have a tighter connection to the fish.
@skyiswomb12 жыл бұрын
@@OleFloridaFlyShop thanks. Will have to try that.

He kept saying it "looked horrible" before the trimming, I'm sitting here thinking the long tufts pre-trim would look great flowing underwater, to simulate ghost minnows or larger shad in fresh waters...

🌴 I have to say I use way to much fiber , my fly’s need to go on a diet ! Well looks like me and my fly’s are shedding pounds for 2023 😄👊🏼✌️
