Hi Davie, A classic wet fly from TC Kingsmill Moore. Yes the Kingsmill is a beautiful pattern, which highlighted by the Golden Crest topping and tail. Regards, Wayne 😀👍

That's a beautiful fly pattern, but the blue tag is what got me! I do not fish fly patterns that work strictly on attraction. They always have to have some kind of proper property in the pattern. This one may be usable for me, I will give it a shot , maybe the fish will have a better idea.

That is one outstanding fly, but the tip on forming a nice head was worth it's weight in gold to me. Thank you so much! Jon

Well haha I didn't have any black ostrich herl and I simply cannot spend any more money on materials (Ive spent a few quid short of a grand ! ) So rather than use peacock herl I have some light olive ostrich herl that is a good match for my olive cape, so Ive done the fly as an olive variant. Not sure if it will catch but I don't see why not. I will let you know if I ever catch on it..you never know it may work really well ??????

Hi Gareth, I've tyed them with a dubbed body which works well and peacock herl would be just as good and I like the idea of an Olive version it too would work...Well done and I'm sure the box is looking good... All the very best davie...

Yeah Ive had some nice feed back on the olive version in the fly tying forum (although the purists are not happy I didnt use a black wing. I have no crow so subbed with the darker part of a mallard quill) and I really like the fly myself. One person has said they will tie a few themself. The box is looking brilliant and the amount.of work gone in is really paying off now. Im just tying up a few variants of The Bruiser as we speak.

Really nice fly here Davie, I find the odd one, I know you tied, in the middle of the night while watching over Kathryn. I know I have seen all of your video's more than once. I just am surprised when I haven't commented on their beauty. I have yellow dye so I am going to try to dye some feathers from the saddle I told you about. We'll see what happens. If I like the color, I'll put the rest into the dye. Thanks so much for the advice. All the best to you and your family, Sean

I wish I spoke Scot. What is that feather a rook of crow? This fly is stunning.
@DavieMcPhail8 жыл бұрын
Hi charlize841, I was sold them as Crow but they could easily be either, as they are very much the same and both would be ideal for this fly..I'm glad you liked the fly... All the very best Davie
