Yay!! I am glad to see we will get an update. I was following your father's channel, but even he stopped the "construction progress" maybe a year and a half ago. Thank for the upload!

Shaun is this A82 in Scotland? I am told "The battle between the warring Scots tribes was staged before the striking conical peak of Buachaille Etive Beag in the breathtaking landscape of Glencoe, on the A82 in Argylleshire, Scotland" regarding where a scene for Highlander the Movie was shot! 🙂

Every time that you take us to the Scottish Highlands, I can understand why my ancestors from Scotland and Ireland settled here in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia. I think it reminded them of home. Beautiful video! Thanks for taking us along. Please tell Teka hello and hope ya'll have a wonderful upcoming weekend! God bless!

I live in the "Highlands of the Americas," Appalachia. Which historically, Appalachian mountian range was actually a part of Scotland, Ireland, and part of England when it was the ginormous land that was called Patagonia. So, if you come to a state in rural Appalachia like Pennsylvania, New York state, Maryland. I think you'll like the charm to it, if you're interested in natural beauty mixed with modernity.

And yet the Scottish ancestors of old ran around in kilts. I can't even imagine how cold they were.

lol well they probably had a lot of wool on in winter right? The USN issued us "peacoats" when I was in, starting in 1999 to 2003, they're made in Boston, out of 32 oz wool, 80% wool coat. I was shocked to learn that recently the Navy actually stopped requiring the peacoat! There is now an alternative that's made of synthetic material that's waterproof and even warmer (the synthetic one is Made in USA as well)....apparently you are still allowed to wear a peacoat instead, but you have to buy it yourself! What blasphemy!! Apparently Sterlingwear of Boston, the contractor who made most of them for the Navy, was quite upset!! Of course people will probably always buy them, it's a really warm wool coat. 🙂 (to buy one as a civilian I would recommend Schott, it's made in USA, that or get a used one from an Army-Navy Surplus Store.)

I love your footage of Scotland. I bought your picture of Lollybroch. I don't know the real name of the place. My husband and I loved it so much it is hanging in our bedroom. I started watching quite a few years ago before Outlander. If you and Tekka visit the Minneapolis area will you have a get together? Plan your visit well, it's March 24th and we will be getting a foot of snow today, lol! May would be a great time to visit Minnesota, not hot and not cold and very few insects. Thanks for all the beautiful footage, it's exceptional. ☺ Great way to start a Sunday morning, thank you!

Man! That place is beautiful all year round isn’t it?! There is just not any location up there that is not. I have ancestors that came from the Western Isles. I’ll have to go back and look and see where they came from but it’s on my bucket list to go there someday before I die. :-) the only place I have been in Scotland are Edinburgh and Glasgow. That sounds like some very cold weather over there. I’ll bet even the standing stones have their winter coats on.

Here in the northern US they’re known as Elk. The males are stag (or bulls) and the females are called cows. They range in the northern-most states, a bit farther down in the highlands. Scotland had the last isolated herds of Giant Elk in the world, now extinct like the Wooly Mammoth.
