You haven’t been through what these two have been through. It’s hard for two damaged kids to not only deal with every day things, but the past. I think Tyler has so much love and compassion but is struggling to live kait. I don’t think he would be there if not for nova. But is awesome that they are the only couple still together and the only ones to relinquish their first child. That’s part of the pain they live through every day. They barely see her. I am a grandma of a gchild who was adopted out. The parents agreed to skype once a month. That lasted 2 months. Never heard from them again it’s been 4 years. I just hope they will be able to survive this and will have a healthy baby.

Thank you for emphasizing the danger a nonverbal child is put in by a parent who brings non-vetted strangers into the home. I was shocked that he used that word but I can totally understand him. Catelynn comes off as really selfish. She does what she wants when she wants regardless of what she leaves behind. I remember an episode last season when Tyler was implying that he had mental issues and couldn't sleep and Catelynn laughed at him and told Nova something along the lines of "Look Nova, daddy is lazy and wants to sleep". He went to college, built their current house, takes care of his dad's issues (and sister's), and has to put up with Catelynn's mental health and her constant trips to "rehab" leaving him to take care of their brand and business and Nova. She never went to college, work, nothing. She just sat at home and smoke pot. I am shocked he still hasn't kicked her to the curve, and even more shocked that she is pregnant again.

I've thought this about both of these kids- how they were the ONLY couple who were still together & they were the ONLY ones who gave their kid up for adoption (obviously the BEST DECISION!) And they BOTH have messed up families who didn't support their decision in any way.... Hell, their parents (who clearly not together through their children's RELATIONSHIP & probably started doing drugs together then.... you MARRY YOUR KID'S SIGNIFICANT OTHERS PARENT?! I once told my bf I rather be a single mom being happier single than being a single mom not being happy with him. Once I said that he started helping with our babies. We have 2 small babies together a son and daughter. He gives them their baths every night. And gets them up in the morning and feeds them breakfast. It helps me a lot that he does these things now.

Depression can make working impossible (depending on severity). Understand that Clinical Depression can make breathing feel difficult. I'm not dramatizing that. I've been so Depressed that the effort to breath, or move in the slightest way, takes so much thought and energy that it seems impossible to do. The irony is that getting up and moving, and getting involved in life, does help. I call it Soul Cancer. It's horrible.

I think it would help them a lot if they could just be upfront about the main issue: they regret giving up Carly. It is so obvious. They have had to pretend for so long that it was the right choice and all that, but I think they regret it. I think that Catelynn especially feels it. I think it hurts her to see Nova all the time because it is a constant reminder of Carly and how much she regrets giving her up. I think that in hindsight they see they might have been able to do it, even though they thought they had no choice at the time. Who knows, they may have had second thoughts at the time but felt they had to go through with it for the show. They can't be honest about any of this, because they can't make it look like adoption isn't a wonderful choice. I think that the pain of giving up Carly coupled with the fact that they can't be completely honest about it has made the last few years very hard on them, especially the extra pain the miscarriage added to it. I wonder if it would help them heal to just be able to say "We wish we had never placed her for adoption."

C York EXACTLY!!! I have thought that from the beginning. It is so much worse and in their face then a normal adoption from the show. It is all so weird because obviously they both were really poor and had horrible family situations and being young and pregnant and at the time being mature and aware of their horrible situation and not wanting to bring a baby into it . However they never thought the show would last so long and make them relatively wealthy. No one could have known. So now it is as if they sacrificed their daughter for wealth and fame. So sad. I could never get over that if it were me. I can never imagine living and being happy with my son away from me when I have all the provisions to care for him which they quickly got from the show. Tyler and Catelynn should address that if they ever want to find any sense of happiness. Plus Carly will see all of this. Cate is clearly trying to fill a void with food , stuff and sadly animals that are innocent victims. I wonder if they talk about it off camera

I feel bad for Tyler. He's constantly worrying about someone other than himself. Butch and Catelynn are slowly sucking the life out of the poor guy. I remember when they graduated from high school and Tyler wanted to go to college. Catelynn attached herself like a barnacle. All she's ever wanted was Tyler. The girl is sweet, but damn. She seems to have no real ambition outside the show. I don't know how Tyler does it. I've always felt they were both too damaged to be together. Dare to Love ur life Sorry to hear that you went through this! Depression can be mild to very extreme. With my experience with major depression, I remember when putting my phone on the charger was a hard task. Someone could have held a gun to my head and I wouldn’t have cared less. There was no way I would even consider going to the gym at my lowest. It’s hard to understand when it’s something you haven’t experienced at this level. Just try to be mindful about commenting on someone else’s experience with depression. Not everyone’s experience is the same.

I really feel sorry for Tyler. He's never had a chance to just live his life for himself. He's always been catering to other people and cleaning up their messes. First, he was dealing with Butch and his drug abuse. Now Catelynn is sucking the life out of him with her issues. She just doesn't understand what it means to be married. When you make major decisions, like going to rehab, and subsequently pawn your responsibilities as a mother onto your spouse without discussing with them, that's completely unfair and insensitive. @@MichelleBrown-fj8hc You're not kidding about the difficulty of leaving. It's easy for so many people to say, "Well, if he's not happy, why doesn't he just leave?" Leaving someone as emotionally and mentally fragile as Catelynn is no easy decision. This is someone who has attempted suicide after suffering a miscarriage. So clearly, she struggles with loss. If Tyler even entertained leaving her, it would shatter her and very likely prompt her to consider suicide again. If she were successful, Tyler would never forgive himself and would consequently carry guilt with him for the rest of his life. He's kind of in a lose-lose situation.

Amber absolutely disgusts me, her Son was born on the same day as my daughter was due but I sadly lost her at 16weeks. Sorry you lost your baby. I lost a baby boy at 20 weeks, Nov 7,2013. I had to deliver him in the hospital because my water broke but he had already passed. I did have a healthy baby girl after him if it brings you any hope. I know I am so thankful for her.

I love that you mentioned the lack of concern for the children. Not even just the partners, but the random “friends” that are in and out and they know then for a week and then leave their kids with them. That sort of trauma will affect a child for the rest of their lives and they have zero concern.

I'm so glad you touched on the lack of concern for children safety. My daughter's father passed away when I was pregnant so I scaled back on dating until she was around 13. She never stayed overnight with me, no man stayed with us. The only man who has stayed with us overnight is now the father of my second daughter. I trust him, but more importantly, my daughter does.

Thanks Grace! You're right, PTSD is no joke, I have it, and he will always have it too. After awhile, one just has to learn to relax (as best as possible) and I hold on by always counting my blessings. He's always going to hate fireworks, the sound of a balloon popping, and he will always be jumpy and defensive. I'm sad to hear that their marriage may fall apart.

You're spot on about everything EXCEPT the horse haha. I've worked with horses for more than 20 years now and I can positively say that horses do get depressed if they are kept in pastures by themselves. Horses aren't that bright and they still think they're in Africa waiting for a pride of lions or hyenas to pick them off, horses know instinctually that if they are by themselves and attacked by a group of predators they'll die every time, if they're with another large animal it's a 50-50 chance of who gets caught and eaten first. You don't have to put them with horses necessarily, donkeys, llamas, goats, and cows work as cheaper alternatives, but a horse kept by itself is normally EXTREMELY depressed--if done for prolonged periods the animal will start escaping it's pen in search of a herd.

And like I said it doesn't have to be a horse: donkeys, cows, goats, alpacas, and llamas would do just as good. But if they continue to keep the horse alone it will probably start breaking out of its pen, and then they usually get hit and killed by vehicles. I only mention it bc I've watched it happen multiple times to people I warned about getting a lot buddy for their HERD animal. It's extremely cruel to leave a horse alone all day-- they thrive off of herd interactions, even if Cait was around the animal more often it would still need it's own herd.

Erin C where is dr drew when he is needed. She obviously is not getting the right treatment. She needs so much that Tyler or family cannot provide. May be she needs a year or so away from them. There has to be someone somewhere. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks and my medications were changed and have been changed several times until I got been the right ones. I met a very nice woman in there who had an awesome husband kids and family support. She had a terrible time getting the right meds. She even can electric shock treatment. That’s the worse thing to have. She stayed in a long time. Sadly I lost contact with her. But it can take a long time to get the proper help. I agree it’s not good to enable her behavior. The whole family needs therapy. Just like an alcoholic or drug addict. Let’s hope they can find ✌️ peace

Have you noticed that over the last few years, when a famous person goes away to get help for their mental health, it is labeled as Rehab? I know Cait is addicted to, or just smokes a lot a weed, but they make it seem like the main reason she's getting help is for her depression and anxiety. Why do you think all these people say they're going to rehab to get help for their mental health? When I hear rehab, I think drug rehabilitation. I definitely don't think about a place where you have a choice on whether or not you to go to a therapy session, a place you can nap whenever you'd like or a place that shows multiple movies.

Tyler and Caitlyn have a trauma bond and that can keep couples together much past the expiry date of their relationship. They both grew up in very dysfunctional and let's be frank, abusive (at least mentally and emotionally if not physically) and neglected families. They have says before that once they found each other, they held on to one another as their main support and feeling of love and safety. Add to that their teen pregnancy and adoption which is another trauma and their bond deepens. They feel connected and like only the other truly understands what they have gone through in their lives from childhood to now. Tyler being the man, is prone to feeling more responsible and protective of Caitlyn. She's needy and manipulative which forces him into the caretaker role even more. I also believe their parents divorce and lack of stability in relationships and as parents has Tyler wanting to keep his family together for Nova (and now baby 2). Tyler basically sacrifices himself for others and especially Caitlyn in order to always try to do the right thing and make sure everyone else is ok but it's to his own detriment. I think everyone knows Tyler hasn't been happy for years and I'm glad he is finally voicing it.

The horse looks to be taken care of, feet are done and in good body weight. Sadly I see it a lot, people have horses and never come see them, it’s not fair to the horse. Cate needs to sell her horse if she’s never coming to see it... also if the horse is alone that’s why he’s depressed. Horses are herd animals, he needs a buddy... along with a new home with an owner who actually cares about him.

Megan Mendoza the horse hasn’t been abandoned (she doesn’t see him much but it’s not abandoned) or mistreated. You can call the humane society or rescue to help cease an animal if they are abused or underweight. This horse is t though, just has an owner who doesn’t see it. It’s not fair to the horse though that’s why she needs to sell her horse.

Getting pregnant while her Depression is unstable was a huge mistake. Post Partum Depression is serious, as is Clinical Depression. Combining them is dangerous for all involved. I have Mental Illness, as does my husband. I know people who don't have Clinical Depression don't understand how difficult it is to function at times. It's frustrating on both ends. You can't understand it unless you walk that path...I hope you never understand.

Cate and Tyler have literally been together since they were 13. That's a 12+ year relationship they've been it by their mid twenties. That is so insanely rare. And on top of everything they've been through together, the level of codependency going on here is on a level that I'm sure none of us could even fathom. I think anyone watching can see they're not happy together and haven't been for a while. I just genuinely wonder if they can even/would allow themselves to imagine their lives separate from each other. They just seem to have gotten into that mindset we see a lot of couples in their 30s and 40s stuck in. They've already put some much time and effort and energy into this relationship and they don't just want to end it and have to build all of that all over again with someone new, so they stay because it's what they know even when they aren't that happy

Tyler deserves some kind of award for not freaking out on Caitlyn when she mentioned getting another horse. I would have said, “Oh great, another life you can abandon and leave me to take care of.” I feel tremendously bad for Bristol’s husband but he is, understandably, such a mess. It was almost hard to watch. He needs so much more help than he’s already gotten and her concerns seem very valid. He couldn’t even speak without raising his voice at any point. Even when he was visiting with his dad. I really hope he gets the help he needs.
