My grandma's name was Virginia and we called her Gramma Virgie. She passed away while I was in the ICU following open heart surgery. I was 17 and the only thing I could think or talk about back then was being a cattle rancher. She'd smile and tell me about granddad and his big herd. Well, I've got my herd now and I'm raising show cattle on the farm she and granddad built together. I must not have grieved properly when she passed because this came on one day while clipping for a show and I broke down sobbing in front of the college kids I have working for me. It was so cathartic. Idk why I'm telling a bunch of strangers but this feels good too. Tyler may be a wild mountain man, but he's a good boy.

Mr. Can you make folks cry when you play and sing, have you paid your dues, can you moan the blues, can you bend them guitar strings......... Yes, yes he can. The true measure of genuine God given talent is evident if people are moved by your passion, if you can touch their hearts deep down inside , then you have it, if your music doesn't have any effect on them emotionally, then you don't. Tyler has it.

My name is Cody. Lost my aunt and grandmother in the same year a few years back. Grandpa joined them a few months ago. I still catch little glimpses of them from time to time. Work and life have been hard lately. But then I heard this song for the first time today it came on a completely random country station. My cousins, who my aunt called "the boys" and I would hang out near my aunt's pond a lot, an area that we all called "the salt flats." Some of my best memories were there or at my grandmother's house that we all filled. When I heard the line "can't you see her up there Cody?" I completely broke down. This song means so much to me. A sign from them. Thank you

He is such a good singer/songwriter that I think his guitar work is kind of overlooked. He plays pretty damn precise.

I remember the first time I introduced this young man on stage , he was doing cover songs mostly Bob Dylan stuff and then he done a original song. I knew that he had all the ability and just needed the break to make it. So proud to say I know him.

Imagine: A high school buddy, hanging out with you, her, your friends, trying to make music. Years later, that grandmother of yours made such an impression on your friend, that when she passed, THIS beautiful song was written in her memory ❤ Whenever I look to the treelines/sky, I think of my Gram, loved and missed always

Back before these calloused hands did all this work We used to sit up at the flats Acting like we'd live forever Getting high and skipping class I reckon we were heathens But in her eyes we were saints Now you're calling all the boys home As heavens angels carry her away I will follow you to Virgie Although it hurts me so To lay to rest this mountain beauty That the Lord's called home Can't you see her up in glory I can see her through the pines Back when all us boys were trying To make sense of all these strings I can see her in the corner Singing along to all our crazy dreams I will follow you to Virgie Although it hurts me so To lay to rest this mountain beauty That the Lord's called home Can't you see her up in glory I can see her through the pines I will follow you to Virgie Although it hurts me so To lay to rest this mountain beauty That the Lord's called home Can't you see her up there, Cody? My buddy’s grandparents have a little country home in the middle of a marsh. They had a couple borders, and ones name was Sylvia, or “Gramma Sylvia”, as we called her. She was a hard loving and hard to love kind of woman, who spoke in curses and cigarette smoke. I can “fondly” remember her beating me with a loaf of bread for saying stupid things as a teenager.. Or whatever else she had in her hands 😅 A couple years ago I heard that she’d passed. Suddenly those moments of seeing her angry became endearing. I haven’t been to that place in a long time now. But I will never forget the way she hated the fact that she loved us so much. This song will never not make me think of her.. RIP Gramma Sylvia

Been casually listening to him since 2019. Saw him live a couple weeks back and everything clicked. This dude is a damn blessing. He played universal sound as the rain was coming down on us all in the ga spots. Lifted my head to the sky as he played, and I swear he was in rhythm with the rain. He can pull all those emotions out that are stuck way down deep

He had left us by 8pm on Monday. I know this song is about Cody's gram but it definitely reminds me of me and my buddy growing up and raising hell as thinking we're immortal 😢 RIP Joe Gordon.
