[Verse 1] Lexington's a city But it ain’t so big it freaks me out And if I need a breather I can hit the parkway Be home before the bars all close And drink away the lies she told And think about the days [Chorus 1] She was a few rides shy of rodeo queen High school lovin' in a badass Jeep Far from the eyes of a watchful town Her mama didn't need to know Good corn liquor to shake this cold And good hot lovin’ on a gravel road Juliet, won't you crawl outside your window And dance in the arms of your redneck Romeo? The Top Verified Episodes of 2022 | Genius The Top Verified Episodes of 2022 | Genius [Verse 2] If push came down to shove I'd be a bandit for her love Shoot sharp and walk away She was good before she changed her name And I bet that ain't all that's changed Goddamn, I remember the nights [Chorus 2] I was a young punk kid from a dried-up town Coal-car county full of huntin' hounds She was the one who kept those boys at bay Her high heels and my Red Wing boots Cuttin' couches in the living room Juliet, won't you crawl outside your window And dance in the arms of your redneck Romeo? [Verse 3] I can’t win for all this losin’ I can't see for all this boozin’ But by God, I can keep it together Just to hold my baby close Get her movin' down a county road Make up for lost time [Chorus 3] She was a few rides shy of rodeo queen She ran on sex and gasoline Far more money than a boy like me could hold She went off to paint the town And I'm stuck holdin' these mountains down Juliet, won’t you crawl outside your window And dance in the arms of your redneck Romeo? Won't you crawl outside your window And dance in the arms of your redneck Romeo?

I heard Country Squire on the radio today and downloaded it right away. I am a fan of old country and listen to Guy Clark, Terry Allen, Sturgill Simpson, Jamie Johnson, and of course the late John Prine to name a few of the great artists. These are singers who can get on a stage with an old six string and entertain from the sole. I know that the majority of the youth listen to the new stuff put out now in Nashville and the record company just wants the money. I can't come to listen to it on the radio and it is even harder to watch the CMA awards now to see half pop groups getting awards. If they had to sing for their dinner they would probably starve without all the fancy tech equipment covering them. I call it cookie cutter songs. They all sound the same. I am so glad that we still have real music artists who write real life stories. I hope Tyler you continue to stay with this type of music and don't try and go to out there away from your roots like many others have.
@slothbros7607
@slothbros7607 4 жыл бұрын
They all sound the same and the words are practically the same. It's like they are playing the same song over and over. None of the songwriters seem to be over the age of 25 and have no apparent life experiences to write about other than partying by the river in their pick up truck??? No heart. No soul.

What a great performance. Between the bass, slide guitar, dude with the tele, Tyler.. Damn Edit: I noticed that's his current bass player, dude rips. Easy to identify with that hair

Craig Berletic is a great bass player! Nowadays he plays a fretless. When we saw them in Cleveland a few weeks ago we spotted him just hanging out with the crowd before the show.

Lyrics: Lexington's a city But it ain’t so big it freaks me out And if I need a breather I can hit the parkway Be home before the bars all close And drink away the lies she told And think about the days She was a few rides shy of rodeo queen High school lovin' in a badass Jeep Far from the eyes of a watchful town Her mama didn't need to know Good corn liquor to shake this cold And good hot lovin’ on a gravel road Juliet, won't you crawl outside your window And dance in the arms of your redneck Romeo? If push came down to shove I'd be a bandit for her love Shoot sharp and walk away She was good before she changed her name And I bet that ain't all that's changed Goddamn, I remember the nights I was a young punk kid from a dried-up town Coal-car county full of huntin' hounds She was the one who kept those boys at bay Her high heels and my Red Wing boots Cuttin' couches in the living room Juliet, won't you crawl outside your window And dance in the arms of your redneck Romeo? I can’t win for all this losin’ I can't see for all this boozin’ But by God, I can keep it together Just to hold my baby close Get her movin' down a county road Make up for lost time She was a few rides shy of rodeo queen She ran on sex and gasoline Far more money than a boy like me could hold She went off to paint the town And I'm stuck holdin' these mountains down Juliet, won’t you crawl outside your window And dance in the arms of your redneck Romeo? Won't you crawl outside your window And dance in the arms of your redneck Romeo?
