Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown Waiting for something or someone to show you the way Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain You are young and life is long, and there is time to kill today And then one day you wake to find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking Racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time Plans that either often to naught or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way The stories done, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say

Hanging on in quiet desperation. Holy fuck he delivers that line with so much earnest. The rest of the lyrics as well. Pink Floyd was incredible and he does the song perfect justice.

Hands down. One of the coolest and best solo acoustic covers of all "time". Childers killed it. And that backwards strum of the E chord during the interlude and end puts the perfect accent on this great performance. This man is already a legend.

I wish he would record this in studio and put it on an album!!!
@cdane72 жыл бұрын
Me to but if he does it in the studio I wish he would slow down a little bit. Play the tempo just a little faster than Cobain sang “Where did you sleep last night?” The lyrics of this song are so effective he could slow it down and make it even more powerful. But his version is awesome.
